Really great conversion guide, though I do think a hooded head would really tie it all together. Maybe you could get one from bits resellers?

I saw the thumbnail for this video a bit ago and it was a great inspiration for me as yesterday I ended up by mistake with 2 models of this lieutenant. I was never a big fan of the model itself, but I turned one into my custom captain and the second one - inspired by you - became a version of the cover marine :) I had to use the candles with sword from the veterans on the backpack, but otherwise I think its close enough. Thanks for the idea!

This is a wicked kit bash, would love to see it all painted up! With regards to those winged helmets you showed, I would definitely recommend a really thin layer of plastic glue over the winged parts. I found that they would snap so easily, but with a thin layer of glue, they feel a lot sturdier.

I doubt you'd want to, but if you look up "eternal pilgrims" for 3d print or one of the sellers, it's all conversion parts for Dark Angels/Black Templars. no bodies, legs, the stuff that makes the actual minis, just shoulder pads, helmets, backpacks, etc

I'm realy enjoying your conversion adventures. I'm working on a Consecrators army- DA successor who use heresy era kit. Do you have any ideas for converting Primaris marines into any of the old armour marks? My first thought is modelling mk4 knee pads and leaving it at that, but I'd be interested in your approach.

Thanks! I haven’t dabbled with older Mk armour (aside from firstborn stuff) although I should probably grab some as they scale a lot better now. Let me pick some up and have a play around

How the actual fuck were you able to drill the sword handle like that. If I try I just fricking ruin the sword! That is impressive!
@cat_or_rabbit Жыл бұрын
Take your time, make a small mark in the middle using a hobby knife then, using a 1.00mm drill bit slowly let the drill do the work, for the first couple of turns, make sure it’s not come out any sides or anything, once your about 4-5mm in your good to go, just work slowly and keep checking

@cat_or_rabbit Жыл бұрын
I’ll see if I can find the link to it (I think I got from Amazon) if you watch my how to drill gun barrels the principal is exactly the same - make a mark with a point on a hobby knife then just drill - there’s a fair amount of wiggle so don’t always worry about it not being dead straight.
