Back in the day, I had a friend who was from St. Lucia and we communicated perfectly. He spoke St. Lucian Creole and I spoke Haitian Creole. At the end of the day, we are African descendents who speak/understand the language our ancestors had to create because our colonizers would not allow us to learn to read/write. What a group of resilient people we are!!!! Let's EDUCATE, UNITE & ORGANIZE!

Here in America certain people are called creole rather than just the language so I'm assuming some of us here in America are really Haitian. Because a lot of history been lied about. @CharisMaggieTV3 жыл бұрын
Yes. In Belize as well, there is an ethnic group called “Creoles”. Based on the history, many of us are connected to countries like Ghana and Nigeria due to the slave trade as most of the enslaved in some Caribbean islands like Haiti and Jamaica are of those descent so I guess it would make sense why we have such a bond and it also shows in the similarities of our food. Same or similar food, but different names or cooking techniques

St. Lucia is a beautiful place

My St. Lucian grand parents spoke mainly Kweyol rarely did they communicate in English. My mom's generation and mine we speak more English, however luckily for me I was raised with my grandmother who spoke to me in Kweyol so now I am able speak and write better than most in my generation.

Haiti, S t. Lucia ,Guadeloupe, martinique Dominica and Mauritius those are all similar... but he's Creole is not the best to be honest.
@Yehmanu3 жыл бұрын
bullshit, mauritian isn't similar, and haitian is close but stil different from lesser antillean french creole (martinique, guadeloupe, dominica, st lucia), the analysis on this channel isn't of quality

Here in America they call some of us African Americans creoles rether then just the language but I believe we are really Haitian creole some of us. I even went to a psych Jamaica reader and he said that I was Haitian
@Yehmanu3 жыл бұрын
@@charlesjohnson945 because you are, the word "creole" himself doesn't mean anything, it doesn't designate really a language, but a procces of creation a complete new tongue with the language of a dominating group deeply modified and reorganized by the influence of a dominated group more numerous, by the way in function of the dominating language, the new tongue called "creole" will be french lexicon based, english lexicon based, portuguese lexicon based ... But even there, there is a trap , indeed it's not because different creoles have the same language based that they are mutually intelligible, thus french based creole of Caribbean and Indian Ocean aren't intercomprehensible

Don't forget Grenada and Trinidad.
@Yehmanu3 жыл бұрын
@@lonalxaia @Lonal Xaia for sure you're absolutely right, and you can even add Saint-Vincent and the grenadines and a few places in Venezuela like El Callao, Guïria or Macuro, i didn't cite them because antillean french creole is no longer the language of their whole societies today, and it is dying unfortunately, but of course we have strong cultural connections between us
