It's not necessarily how the ball gets to the release point (Tim Cagel, anyone? ) as long as it's consistent, pointed in the right direction, and meets the general standards for lift/release. Maldonado hops after the ball is out, but just barely.

Nice video, but wanted to note that I watched you on TV this past weekend, you looked good. I was on a bowling fan chat room while watching and kept pointing out that it was you against I believe all future hall of famers, not that you will not get there, but the guys you were bowling against have already most likely all qualified. Do you change your layouts for tournaments? Or just use same layouts on everything and pick the right ball?
