As far as reinforcing the priming rod, my first thought is rough up the plastic, then epoxy on a length of brass tube the right diameter to snugly fit around it with a hole in the end for a key ring. The length and shape of the contact surface should be more than strong enough.

Captain Xavier I have something important to tell you, I have a Nerf battlescout people think it sucks. but if you modify the clip to rear load and take out the pigs and all that make it shoot half length darts and give it a small spring upgrade or possibly know spring upgrade you can hit up to 100 FPS which is what I did with mine if the bullets or Nerf darts have a tight fit they usually go farther is it odd gun and very weird but... it's good... now - ish.

Also Captain Xavier in the new Nerf evader if you swap out the magazine lock switch for the jam door lock switch and put tape over that lock switch you can have your Jan door open and read without a magazine in no rewiring

I would try mounting that revolver to a wrist guard and use a cable and pulley system to prime it when you extend your arm and rig up a button and linkage to fire it. I would run that in a war.

Maybe you could attach the revolver under the barrel of something for emergency shots? You wouldn't need to do as much cutting since the internals are fully operable outside of the 'shell', like how people stick Swarmfire internals to blasters.
