Save your time and money, just get a Takedown next month. It's literally the same internals as the reaper shotguns, but pump action, at $20 usd

Fast forward 3 months: the Reaper set with the mask sells for less the £40. If the Takedown is to the Reaper blaster what the Roughcut is to whatever rear prime dart blaster you want to think about, then the Reaper blaster is much nicer than the Takedown. I can actually shoot it one handed [can't prime it one handed so can only use one at the time] but it feels much quicker to shoot these than the Takedown.

For the “revolver” I imagine that some kind of tube magazine could be rigged up by the loading port. Kinda like those magazine conversions for break action firearms. It would ruin the look and be impractical but it would be a neat concept. And a pump action mod would be super easy too. At that point I’d just get an Artemis.

I feel ya Captain..I live in the south and it's normally a fairly mild winter season when you live in the Unlucky state (personal name for home state based on a historical fact) but this winter (not even the first DAY of winter yet..that's 2 days away) is pretty chilly for my state..it's currently 29 degrees F outside where I live..I ain't quite used to it being that cold so I have a trapper hat I wear for days like this when I have to go out..just got a new one that has a snap on mask for my nose too so I can not freeze it off.

I was barely modding, had no idea what I would do with myself, and had like 3 Nerf Blasters. Now I'm a senior, have a collection of near 50 blasters(mostly thrifted) and have college plans. The college I'm going to has HvZ every spring, but with my EXTREME interest in Afterworlds, I intend to be in Oregon in 2020 for an event and hope to be able to finally meet you! I also acquired the Reaper shotgun recently due to the same sale you took advantage of, and mine got solid mid-80s/low-90s as you'd expect from something that's essentially just a Kronos - yours is definitely a lemon, and I suspect the problem is the o-ring on the interface between the front of the plunger tube and the back of the air restrictor/breech. If you have any of the slightly thicker o-rings that came with those 10kg/13kg Kronos upgrade springs you tested some while back still sitting around I'd try swapping the stock one from the Reaper blaster out for one of those, in my testing doing just that can get you easily another 10 FPS or so.

Just a tip for those trying to put the Mccree pistol back together. It took me an hour or so to figure out what orientation to put some of the parts. One of the most difficult ones that kept me hung up from being able to prime the blaster was the lock screwed into the blaster (there are only 2 screwed in locks and there's only one that you need to make sure is straight) on the right side of the shell looking at it from the position you would normally hold a blaster. This little orange piece should be straight upwards and holding the non-moving orange tune in place that connects to the barrel where you insert the rival rounds. The second hang-up that I had was the spring-assisted lock that is at the front of the blaster. You need to make sure this one's little lip that points out is facing from the teeth of the moving bar which should be fully moved forward. The third thing that I got hung up on was the orange barrel that connects to the cylinder that moves out (where you load the Rival round). You have to make sure the rectangular tab is facing straight out and straight down (there are two of them, one on each side) and make sure they are fitted into their tab holdings which have six little prongs to hold them securely. Make sure this tube is in place and properly fitted into the holdings or else the shell won't close easily. Just a little help for those who can't find any other video on how to re-assemble the blaster ;D

im no expert nor do i have a McCree blaster of my own but i imagine that the reason for the dips in fps with certain ammo is to do with the squishyness of the ball. it might be the complete other way round but i imagine squishy ones shoot harder as its easier for it to come out of the breach and vice versa for the stiffer ammo

Probably because the only way how they make money on them is by making them extremely overpriced to offset the licence fees. When your local store sells you a $35 Stryfe CQ-10 (well, they were around that at launch?) some of that money goes to the retailer and the rest goes directly to Hasbro. If they sell you a $50 Fortnite AR-L, some of the money still goes to the retailer but Hasbro doesn't get the rest of the cut: they have to give some to Epic Games if it's a per blaster royalty deal, or they increased the RRP to $50 so they could make back the money from the licence deal while selling less units. Same goes with Overwatch and Activision Blizzard, or perhaps Star Wars / Marvel and Disney. Anyone that buys them as props isn't going to care if they're not as "war-practical" as a Nerf Elite or Rival branded blaster. The average Nerf fan that doesn't care too much about the prop's looks are going to look at it as a Nerf blaster that hits softer, holds less ammo and so on while being bulkier and costing more, and will buy the normal blasters. The ones where Hasbro gets to keep 100% of their cut. Ergo, they make more money from each individual blaster if there isn't a non-Hasbro logo on the shell, and if they move more of those, they get more money overall, but they need to sell just enough prop blasters to fans of the games or movies they're based off of.

@@ToxicAtom that may or may not be so they can sell them in countries where Nerf as a brand is less trusted or less popular, or so they can sell them in countries that have performance caps (e.g. Australia). For normal blasters, Australia and other similar countries usually get a seperate variant (often with a grey trigger instead of an orange one) that fires darts a noticable amount of FPS slower. I suppose Hasbro saves money by making only one licenced version instead of multiple, which they can sell internationally.

It's very simple, do you really want to take a gun that legally requires a safety to a cosplay centre? These are meant to be used for Cosplay and you don't want to hurt anyone in case of a misfire. The safety is probably a remnant of the original rival design, but also adds an extra layer of protection against misfires.

I've only done it a couple times, but in my experience it doesn't cause any more problems than normal painting. As long as you keep the high friction areas clean (places where triggers, slides, pump grips, etc. rub against the shell) you should be golden.
