Kellen’s play call on 2nd & 6 from the 8; a 5 step drop pass in your own end zone to your 3rd receiver in a snowstorm is beyond stupid, it’s clueless & reckless which is why it blew up as a safety. 🤫

Great analysis. I think this play call didn't work here for largely the same reason why the Rams were able to move the ball on us late in the game. The best way, IMO, to run your pass game in snow is by creating space EARLY and using quick throws. The DBs are already inclined to give more cushion off the LOS because of the uncertain footing, so you either spread your receivers out pre-snap and then hit them quick(e.g. short slants), or maybe you bunch them and then use a shorter combo of that over/under concept with the two inside receivers and the widest guy running a go or some shorter version of that flat 7. I'd still prefer the spread approach, because it establishes more space early on, before the snap. As you said, it's really all about the footing in a game like this. Your receivers know where they're going, not the DBs/LBs in coverage. Amd that little bit of extra cushion they're willing to give in those conditions is exactly the weakness to exploit. It worked well against us late in the 4th, even more so because Vic had shifted to a little more of a prevent mode at that point(personally, I don't even think he went full prevent, it just felt that way because McVay & Stafford took advantage of hurry-up/no subs as well as the field conditions & quick passes. In fact, the plays where they didn't have success late in the game were the ones where our DL(mostly Carter) got home early and/or Stafford had to wait back there a little longer for his receivers to get downfield). All of this said, you kinda nailed it early. Jurgens got absolutely greased immediately, and Hurts had virtually no time to do anything but dump it off(prob to Saquon in the flat) as soon as he recognized the pressure up the middle. Which, again, NOBODY is realistically anticipating their C whiffing and having a DT basically coming unblocked(while also standing in their own end zone with a bum knee and trying to go thru a read progression on a play with THREE long/medium-developing routes). The play call most definitely didn't help the situation, but people also need to rewatch the play in real time and acknowledge just how quickly the play was blown up in the interior and how little time the QB had to do anything besides secure the football and brace for the hit.

He can read and throw just needs to keep his eyes downfield more times than not. Once there’s pressure even if it’s slight his eyes are in the backfield for the rest of the play which is what causes the missed reads.

sometimes he has to look down field or hold the ball longer, looking for that big mouth WR11, take account for that. He aint always wide open..

I think this week they’ll leave it all out there. I think they’re gonna push the ball down field which we’ve needed all season. I think they regress the all fence after the buy, and it really hurt hurts his development. He needs the multiple attempts downfield yeah the turnovers were a problem and they tried to limit that, but I think him himselfwould have limited at some point. The passing game to me will be evaluated next season with or without Kelly Moore, we will need to get better.

Rams defense is good, at rushing the passer ,but run defense 😳 😂😂not so much
@kazejah101414 күн бұрын
He can read defenses, his problem I think is the eagles pass philosophy is about the big play, which is why their routes take so long to establish...which also spreads the field and opens run lanes. It's all by design. So he doesnt default to his check down enough. Shorter passes also inhibit the running game and introduce more turn over risk, while overall advantaging the other teams defense. I do find it infuriating that they dont have at least one more shallow route in these plays so Jalen has something kick to hit other than the check down, but I dont know, trust the process I guess.

Again. Kellen "is shit" Moore was a bad hire by ..... Jeffrey Lurie .... just like Nick Shittyanni instead of Josh McDanels. Thanks to Jeffrey Lurie being the Owner, CEO & GM ...... the Eagles have lost 3 Super Bowls because he wanted Nick Shiityanni to build an elite WC offense & develop Jalen into a top pocket passer, not Josh McDaniels. And now we are hoping & praying Nick & Kellen's offense will not be predictable or just plain dumb especially when you can rely on the QB being a RB.

@@mikeronald3812 So you consider Nick Shittyanni and Kellen Moore ... better QB Coaches & OCs than ..... Josh McDaniels? Again. Nick Shittyanni was a WR Coach and Frank Reich was calling the plays when Shittyanni was the an OC for one season. Kellen Moore was Dak Prescott's backup ... then was made Dak's QB coach for 1 season, and he was complete shit. Then Kellen was made the OC and was shjit, and worse than Scott Linehan. But Jerry Jones was trying to develop Kellen into a future HC to replace Jason Garret ... who was a good back QB, good QB coach & good OC before being being made Jerrah's puppet HC. And Howie Roseman .... drafted Jalen in the 2nd rd ..... because Jeffrey Lurie planned to fire Doug & trade Carson after 2020, then hire Lincoln Reill]y to develop Jalen into a top pocket passer and build an elite WC offense. But Howie wanted Josh McDaniels to run the 2021 offense & develop Jalen as a pocket passer. Howie drafted Smith & Dickerson, and signd Joe Flacco to to backup & mentor Jalen. Lincoln Reilly didn't want the job, ...and Jeffrey Lurie once again ignored Howie Roseman .... rejected 4 x SB winning OC & QB coach Josh McDaiels .... to hire the Colts WR coach. And throughout 2021 ... all you clowns were blaming Jalen & Howie for the poor performance of the Nick Shittyanni's offense and every one of you fools were asking how better the offense would be if it had Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers or Russel Wilson... and not one of you ever asked what the offense would be like if Josh McDaniels was the HC, OC & QB coach ... or ... if Doug Pederson with Press Taylor had a full season to develop Jay and Howie Rose's offense. Kellen & Nick are shit OC's .. and yet you are claiming it's all the QB's fault be because a shit OC made his shit offense simpler but still the QB keeps getting .... sacked. lol. You haters know squat about Football, especially the importance of good HC, OC, DC and position coaches ... to get the best from players.

@@abelincoln.2064 Head coaches and OC’s can only do so much with a qb that has always had bad habits. Do you think the coaches want him bailing clean pockets? His entire college career has a run to completed pass ratio of 1 to 1. He’s always been a runner. He’s never gonna be a classic pocket passer but it’s year 6 and he still does a lot if the same stuff. Lurie did not want Doug to hire his guys. Thats why Doug got fired. Eagles have gone through several coordinators. They’ve given Hurts the best a qb could ask for.
