Not the lions? the hyenas, the panthers. only those h's known forever. His old-timers are dying, but he gave them a great life and the relationship they had can fool people but Kevin has amazing skills even for someone who spent years among those predators! Lions are good for the chain, but Hyenas are a hoot !

The boys were hesitant to come out of their lock up enclosure until they saw it was Kev. Then they displayed their exuberance at Kev’s arrival. There’s so much mutual trust & respect between them.

For me Kevin shows how we should treat other people, children and animals. Kevin treats the animals lovingly, respectfully and playfully. If he were to be aggressive with such animals, he wouldn't do it for long, because the animals are much stronger. But many people are aggressive with other creatures simply because they have nothing to fear. So Kevin does a really great job and is a great role model for me in many ways.

I've been watching your videos for years now and I'm still amazed at the bond you share with each of the animals. The way they nuzzle you with their heads, and roll over for belly rubs can almost fool us into believing they are tame. Yet if anyone else entered those enclosures they'd be eaten lol.

January 29, 2023. I had a special experience this weekend. I found the channel Bondi Vet about a week ago. Have been watching every day. Veterinarians from Australia which work on all kinds of animals. What came up this weekend was Bondi Vet Dr. Chris Brown visiting South Africa with Kevin Richardson. This was absolutely thrilling! Dr. Chris performed operations on 2 of Kevin's Lions. And he never operated on Lions before. This was obviously an older episode because Kevin looked much younger and I didn't recognize the Lions named. What a treat to see that episode of Bondi Vet Dr. Chris with Kevin Richardson.

Maybe I'm just misreading the situation but I think they felt Kevin didn't have the same energy as always and they responded to it. It reminds of my cat when I'm sick and he just stays glued to me until I'm starting to feel better.

Take heart Kevin, I have had both my achilles tendons replaced, due to autoimmune enthesopathy and at age 73 I’m back to training for triathlon. Completely pain free. I hope you have the same great outcome!

This makes you realise these lions would be kept in their enclosures all the time if something happened to Kevin. He walks them and moves them. They would lead very different lives without him and it is a worry that Kevin is the only one who can do all these things
