Hello Doc, I had a 7mm stone. my creatinine levels up to 1.9 and after removing the stone my creatinine is now 1.67 and my EGFR level is 49. My just had another blood test 2 weeks after surgery my creatinine and EGFR are still the same. My questions are, now the surgery is fine and my stent is now removed, can I expect my creatinine’s level to go back down and my EGFR to go back up 🔝 to normal? If so, how long will it take approximately?

Give your father a low protein diet, he can eat potassium rich foods, as long as potassium does not go up to 6.. Nephrologist forbids taking potassium and asks to drink less water, due to which kidney can never reverse... And 90% of the patients are given diet as per the advice of Nephrologist, due to which the patient never recovers and his creatinine keeps increasing everyday..

If the mother is healthy, there is no need for dailysys up to 6 GFR... But immediately stop animal protein, creatinine will decrease..

Is creatinine of 5 mg/dl and BUN of 59 mg/dl good reason to start dialysis? I mean, if it can go to 10mg/dl, than I guess there is still time for dialysis. No symptoms of any kind related to kidneys and urine is produced.

How much ur creatinine level ..now???

@@Jyotim939 7.05 mg/dl. Actually it's kind of weird. Doctor is confused, no swelling, no symptoms of kidney failure. 2.5 liters of urine created everyday. BUN started dropping which is great (from 75 to 63), but eGFR is slowly dropping every month, like 1 point down every month or month and a half. AST and ALT is bellow normal (for liver), which could indicate kidney failure. No itching. Potassium and Phosphorous are controlled by binders. Hemoglobin is at 9 (normal starts at 13). CO2 came back to normal from 16 to 23 in couple of months after very high sodium bicarbonate ingestion.
