Unfortunately as someone who is pretty experienced with the game and it’s mechanics this was sort of doomed to fail, both selling off Dinosaurs or feeding them to stronger ones is NOT profitable, animals sell for about half as much as their incubation costs so while selling Dinosaurs on deaths door is better than letting them die it’s not by much and you need more upkeep to keep a steady population, long lived Dinosaurs are better for your park rating as they provide income for longer especially in high rated species or animals added early on in parks. As for why feeding them is bad it’s because the victorious Dinosaur only gets a fraction of the others rating along the lines of ten percent, for example a Sauropelta with a rating of 110 would only give an Allosaurus an additional 11 rating on its roughly base 650 appeal, if you had a whole batch of Sauropelta that’s a total of around 330 appeal for 500,000$ alongside the 650 for the Allosaurus and its roughly 2,000,000 price tag for a total 980 appeal over 2.5 million dollars compared to the 683 appeal over 2.5 million dollars if it killed them.
