If it were aired I think it would be even better if throughout we never got to see what Light was going through, only see evidence of him slowly going more and more insane. Then when the challenge is over, he’s barely holding himself together as he tries to make casual conversation. Hot Take: If Light went on the show *before* getting the Death Note I don't think he'd do much back stabbing or sabotaging, and he wouldn't be controlling to the point of paranoia. The series shows us a version of Light that doesn't have or remember the Death Note, and to be honest that version of him is mostly a decent guy with above average intelligence. What drives him into his controlling nature is the god complex he develops upon gaining the Death Note, and his paranoia stems from his fear of getting caught. A Light Yagami with no access to real power and doesn't believe he's done anything wrong wouldn't have a real reason to act like that. However, I do think Total Drama would drag that personality out of him. For the start of the series he'd basically just be a regular guy (Probably helping his team mates through sone of the challenges that need more thinking). But after being subjected to what eventually becomes actual psychological torture and very real peril, he'd develop his god complex simply because he's survived the game so long and *that's* when he starts plotting out long term strategies involving sabotage and manipulation. Like, on the outside the other contestants wouldn't notice him changing that much, but his confessionals would go from "I hope my friends and I will win today!" to unhinged monologues once he hits his breaking point. If this is *after* gaining the Death Note and he still remembers it, I think it would go pretty close to how the video goes. Mostly because the only reason he'd go on Total Drama at that point is to give himself a solid alibi and he'd need to win or at least nake it to the finals for his plan to work. So he'd treat the whole thing the same way he treats the rest of his plans.

If this was a real life reality tv show, Light would absolutely win. But this is Total Drama, and the writers love to punish their vilains in the most insufferable way you can possibly imagine. So realistically, Light would win but story wise, he would end up losing and would suffer a terrible karma after everything he has done just like Heather did in the OG. One thing is certain, he would be hated not just by the cast but the whole world and he can't stop that, not even the death note would be enough.

real, i talked about this following a video about light and L in squid game with a coworker, and it pretty much boiled down to light is pretty smart, but not like, physically outstanding- while i think he'd be able to get pretty far off of charm, i think the fact that there are total wildcards like izzy, but also chris existing that would potentially lead him to either getting voted off from loss, or because he tripped over his words and people noticed i definitely feel like he's too rational to get super far, and him using or trying to manipulate people would definitely get picked up on by more no-nonsense people- i love stuff like this because of the fact that it's fun to imagine grounded characters in slightly less grounded settings and those characters trying to get by off of those tricks, i'd kill to see how far they'd get through something like dangan ronpa

Then he was justifiably mad at Misa cause of how much of a liability she was. Reason being Lights acting skills and composure are so impressive that even L couldn't find fault with them-and L is master of phycology and has stupendous Observation and emotional perception, enough to watch him on 64 cameras at once during the potato chip arc and admittedly not noticing him behaving weirdly at all. 9:00 I don't think he'd give up that easily and I think so mainly because in the last episode he endured several gunshots to the body, enough that he could even outrun Matsuda and Mogi. Light with his looks, intelligence, manipulative nature and ego would be a perfect total drama contestant. He's just a more refined Alejandro, the only are he'd be lacking is in physical prowess, though not because he's weak but because he's not cartoonishly strong. I can see him "personally saying goodbye" to anyone he gets booted then whispering his gloating to them, which would bite him hard for return contestants or later seasons. He either clears easily or his ego gets the better of him and the hole he dug himself into is too deep for him to climb out.

I actually really like this. Obviously it's going to be really hard to properly plan everything out without the characters actually interacting with each other, because I'm sure there could be moments where Heather would pick up on Light's M.O. and start to sabotage him early on, but overall it made a lot of sense how it'd play out. Definitely looking forward to the alternate version where he's on team Gopher. That and either Light or another character doing other seasons as well, it'd be interesting to see TDA or TD:WT where everyone has experience with Light by then like they do with Heather and see how long he'd last then, or just how long it'd take L before his weird antics make the cast vote him off for no other reason than creeping him out or one upping them at everything.

I got to say I like the way that this is laid out actually showing the picture of the contestants on each team and removing them as the game goes on builds up tension heck there's something like that I got something that may help with the building of tension if it ain't too difficult could you find a song that is built to build over time and then have it the play in the background and if you think the episode is long enough maybe you could use some specific music that fits that specific episode they make each episode feels somewhat distinct I even have one song to recommend that fits Total drama to the team and that is pirate outlaws arena Battle theme check it out if you like my idea this was very well done because I swear to you that I imagine music just going crazy by the end of the video And not to mention the soundtrack that I just mentioned is a road-like kind of fitting for a chance to see how far light can go I see a lot of potential keep up the good work

This reminds me of the character I made for a total drama story, he is the son of a con man who in an attempt to get rid of his father made a bet with him that he could trick the total drama whole and win the show. His plan would be to work from the shadows by making another contestant stand out... Which is to say he would make Katie and Sadie one thing because they would be easy to manipulate and work, I even remember making a tierlist to decide who would be his scapegoat and it ended up being Katie and Sadie... Which I think is a funny scenario to imagine the two of them going very far when they are receiving support behind the scenes hahaha.

He could, but he won't. He'd be by far the smartest contestant on the island, and that would definitely carry him pretty far, but he's far less physically gifted than a lot of the other characters. We have to assume that Light would have some level of toon force, same as the other contestants or he'd definitely die out there. He'd definitely merge, and make it pretty far to boot, but I think by the final 4 or 5, people would start targeting him, either because of his weird vibes or because he's viewed as a threat. Funnily enough, the ROTI cast absolutely BODIES him. Dawn would see right through him, and Mike probably could as well, given he'd recognize the patterns of someone hiding 'another version' of themself so to speak. He'd also get completely destroyed by the radioactive Island, and physically, he can't possibly hope to keep up with Brick, Jo, Lightning, or Zoey. Cameron is definitely not as smart as Light, but his technical skills are far better, and that'll give him an edge. He'd genuinely be a ROTI pre-merger and I think that's really funny.

I mean Alejandro completely DESTROYED the cast with some elementary level manipulation tactics. Reboot cast still gets washed no diff though. I feel like Light would do even better on the Gophers. He would be able to ally with Izzy from the start, who would be a much more competent and reliable partner than Harold. Your average Gopher isn't as easy to manipulate as the Bass were, but they're still easy pickings for Yagami.

If I recall based on some info from way way back, Harold has the second highest IQ of the first gen campers of 125 followed only behind Noah's 180(he's not competing as you said and also that's his World Tour era IQ when he's 17 and a half instead of just over 16 so it's probably lower). Izzy is smarter...sort of? Due to her split personality stuff it's inconsistent so not a safe bet(albeit in All Stars she literally saw into someones soul) In the later seasons you get other high hitters, Alejandro has 163, and Scarlett is around 200.

Unironically I think the latter casts are harder. Al is smart, and unlike Noah he can put it to good use, he'd be trading blows. The Season 4 cast has Dawn who will know Light's vibes instantly(and if he WAS allowed the death note could probably sense that crap), and Scarlett is the only character in the series I could see genuinely fooling Light.

Theres a part of me that feels like due to how TDI was written, harold would've beaten light somehow, but since they always did multiple endings its a moot point.

I love what-if scenarios like this, where a character is taken from another series and put in a different series. These scenarios explore the possibilities and different outcomes, what the character will do/say and think, and how their presence alone will impact/change and influence the world and characters around them in that world in those scenarios.

I liked this video a lot and I think honestly if you did give light the death note here I know you didn’t but if you did it wouldn’t really change except maybe ryuk could help him in some parts as I don’t think light would ever use the death note on anyone of em except Duncan maybe but even then he didn’t do anything to severe that would warrant it, I think light would make friends with Owen and would view him as a pawn. Overall well done 10 out of 10 would like to see the next part

I think that, for the biggest fear challenge, if Light is playing it straight in the confessionals and not just pushing his goodie persona, his biggest fear would be letting everyone know what he truly thinks about them. Or maybe, just forcing him to bluntly say how he truly see things (maybe with a strategy diary or something, but you get the point)
