Chester's did his 17 seconds in STUDIO, NOT IN EVERY CONCERT, people be realistic

What makes me laugh about the "iconic Scream" is that Chester couldn't reproduce it live. Every video I've seen Linkin Park performing Given Up has Chester breaking the scream into two segments,. To expect Emily to reproduce a 17 second scream is ludicrous.

I have not seen LP live so I can't speak to it myself but from what I have seen in videos and heard from others, Chester only did the 17 second scream in studio and a handful of live performances but most of the time did the similar 2 different screams for that part. Either way, it doesn't really matter in a live performance. They are human beings and their bodies will be in different conditions every performance. Some nights they will do really well, some nights they will go above and beyond, and some nights will be less than stellar and that is ok. The most important things for me, they are enjoying themselves, they are imparting the feelings they want to share, and they are energizing the crowd and vice versa, even on the less than stellar nights. I think Emily has excelled in all of those categories.

Great reaction and I really like your level-headed approach to this comeback. So many will always be comparing Emily’s ‘weakest’ performances to Chester’s best, and I’ll say as a huge fan of Emily’s, I think Given Up is probably my least favourite on the current setlists, although I still think she does a great job. Overall I’m just so happy to hear this sound again.

Chester was Emily's inspiration to sing/scream, Hybrid Theory was her favorite album. She is actually the perfect fit for the band, and quite honestly as good, if not better a vocalist than he was in many ways.

I think she won't do the full 17 sec scream, not because she can't, but out of respect. She did a 16 sec scream on Heavy is the Crown, a tiny little less. Again, out of respect. My thought is, let Chester have this, he deserves it.

Mainly because Chester couldn't really do it, either. A handful of times, around the time of release for that album. Later-on, maybe if they had played Given Up early on in the set, but he didn't even try anymore, instead he split that part in two. And who cares, anyway? You can see it with Emily, too. The scream in Heavy is the Crown is what, 16 seconds in the studio? She goes to like 12-13 live, because it's song 26 out of 27 and after two hours of performing.
