Huge advantage with Haywood vs portal OLs is UM locks him into a minimum 3-year NIL contract so he stays & becomes a UM legend. That’s a sound investment in return for what he will be paid in NIL. PLEASE GIVE HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS! Go Blue!
@jinorimo609013 күн бұрын
There aren’t locked in deals in CFB anymore. Sure he’s got the ability to play for more years, but Michigan still needs a starting tackle for 2025.

@@ddavis1786 Pete looks like a Duce Robinson type situation. UM is talking to him, but they aren’t a legitimate option. Looks like Leif Magnuson is the most viable candidate at this moment.

@@watchmaker85 Over his three years on campus, and he will bring in a lot more to the school than that. Why is this such a big deal that Michigan is now legally shelling out millions for elite talent but when the SEC was doing the same thing under the table in paper bags no one cared? College football players have always been getting paid, let's not be naive.

@@watchmaker85 thats part of my point. harbs wouldn't spend money like that for any player.

True. He was against NIL but for revenue sharing. He was an oldschool coach and wouldn’t be willing to ask for money from donors

To be fair, Harbaugh was yelling from the rooftops for years to start paying players. There was really no NIL, plus tough admissions. Sherrone Moore is working with a lot more 💰💰💰 than Harbaugh ever had.
@MasonShinrock13 күн бұрын
Harbaugh wanted revenue sharing. Which comes from the university. He was against NIL, which comes from donors. But Sherrone is fully embracing NIL and the transfer portal and I love it
@paulday572213 күн бұрын
If Haywood signs with U-M that would be three 5 stars in one class which will attract more of them going forward. It also looks like Moore, at 38 years old, could be the Head Coach and keep this program at an elite level for decades. The very idea that Michigan can snatch players away from Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, etc. was unthinkable just a few years ago.

I like UM’s chances. I think he’d be the 6th IOL in the 2025 depth chart. LT- PORTAL, Frazier/Bablola LG- Hattar, Link C- Crippen, Efobi RG- El Hadi, Haywood RT- Sprague, Norton

There's never the same OL in November as September. 2 deep is a must. They need to mix up the team of horses starting week 1. The guys that have 3 years left are more valuable. 2 more nationals, in the 20's, is a good shot. We don't need a quarterback. Michigan is deep with young talent now.
@Rob206811 күн бұрын
Pretty simple logic. If you get top talent every year you’re going to be a consistent contender. E.g., Alabama, osu, Georgia. They’re a threat every year for a natty and they never have bad teams. They can’t. They have so much more talent than just about every other team. If you get pretty good talent you can be a contender now and again if you develop them and coach them up, like Michigan. But you’ll have bad teams too.

Ty Haywood is not the "big fish" in 2025 class! If Michigan lands him, he'll be the 3rd highest rated recruit behind Underwood and Babalola. Bryce Underwood is the #1 overall prospect in the 2025 class, so he's definitely the big fish, but Babalola is even rated higher than Haywood. Babaloa is bigger, and as an early enrollee, he will likely see the field before Haywood.

Don't forget that under Harbaugh, NIL was mostly non-existent due to Warde. Then magically, once Warde hired his own coach, Michigan made it a point to get serious about it. Sherrone will never be the coach Harbaugh is, and will need top end talent to compete for championships.
