There's a offline option for Varre's quest and it's a NPC in the Altus Plateau that we "invade" and kill. He's in some ruins with a lot of slugs and worm faces which can be mostly avoided, there are a few dogs by his sign. And he drops a hammer for people who want to bonk things. He was added in patch 1.06 and it's great for anyone who can't or don't want to play online

Note, he is not at the one with the wormfaces. Whritheblood Ruins is the one with the corpse slugs and bleed dogs, where you can get the bloody hélice. Closest site of grace is the bridge of inquiry (the bridge connecting mount gelmir and altus) and the closest "landmark" is the caravan that has the great stars.

a few days ago when i was playing elden ring i was attempting to advance millicents questline and the second perfumer i killed dropped the cloak!, i had 14 arcana and no discovery boosts aside from someone becoming elden lord, now thats lucky!

Haunting Ground, one of the unsung survival horror greats, actually made fabulous use of that "normal is more creepy amidst so much abnormal": it's a pursuit/rival game, and the second boss to do so is the castle maid, so from then on if you see her, she attacks... except every so often you'll find her non-aggro'd in a room, calmly polishing something or whatever. It is SO freaky. Hated being in those rooms.

I'm currently playing as Lobo (DC). No magic, magic weapons, or magic Ashes of War. Brute strength only. Started as a Hero. I used the Grave Scythe instead of Hook and Chain because it gets around shields as a chain would and it scales well with Strength. Also it's easy to find in and around Limgrave. I used Barbaric Roar for the Ash of War. I used Kukri, and throwing daggers for long range, and threw fire and volcano pots for grenades. The only Spirit Summons I used were Rotten Stray because Dawg, Jellyfish because Space Dolphins, and Mimic Tear because it takes a chunk of HP instead of magic and Lobo can literally make clones from his blood. I don't use any Incantations or sorceries. Just the Ash of War, food, and Physick

So it was kind of a trade off. The three categories I use are: Boss Death Ratio, Boss Slaying Time, and Average Death time. The Farm hurt the boss slaying time pretty bad, but actually ended up helping the average death time. It might have moved up a little bit, but probably would have only gone to High B Tier at best I think

2:33 okay, complete adhd tangent time: the eternals movie was really mid, and I feel like it's a bit of a tragedy. A whole bunch of the characters were ripe with potential, and they were squandered. The directorial choice to have what essentially amounts to a whole bunch of flashbacks to flesh out characters was really dumb, when marvel could have easily had their cake and eaten it too if they had posted those flashbacks as trailers for the movie. The choice of actors was questionable, but the characters they were playing had some potential for complexity. A reverse peter pan character, someone who is forever stuck as a child and wants to grow up and mature is really neat, a character who's power is to make anyone do his bidding is just ripe for questions of how much control is too much if you want a cohesive society, a character who has to grapple with the fact that he helped build the atomic bomb is an excellent exploration in forgiving yourself and separating yourself from the things others have done with your work. All of these characters were either let down by actors who were either mediocre or not giving a shit about their performance, or just really questionable directing. Not even going to get into how Icarus is basically just another Marvel attempt at making superman without realizing that superman is great because of his distinct sense of humanity.
