I live in America and I have noticed that if I wear colors people don’t look at me half as much as if I was to wear all black. To avoid stares it’s better to wear colors in certain areas. Go with the norm of that area as to not stand out.

The people who are throwing shade on the sheikh clearly did not listen to the video, he said that depending on the culture, meaning that if you come from a place we’re colours are okay then wear colours, if you come from a country where most women wear the same colour then wear that colour. Like in some African tribes for example women wear really bright colours that pop, in this case if you were to wear dark colours or black you’d stand out, and that’s not the point of hijab obviously. So here you wear colours ofcourse. So please listen and understand. And additionally, Islam was made perfected for us whether you like it or not. We receive the order from Allah and we obey. Don’t argue. Don’t dislike it. Don’t give your opinion on why you think it’s wrong or right. You just obey. Al-Ahzaab (The Combined Forces) chapter 33 verse 36 Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran: It is not for a believing man or woman-when Allah and His Messenger decree a matter-to have any other choice in that matter. Indeed, whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has clearly gone ˹far˺ astray.

Yes, but the Kur'an does not order these things. Instead, these are orders coming from a man who is forbidding what is not forbidden and spreading lies about Allah, in the name of Allah, at the expense of women. He is creating and encouraging oppression and corruption of the perfected religion, and this requires people to speak out with the truth. It is an obligation on Muslims to speak and act the truth. That is the way of Allah. This man is putting his own interpretation, based on nothing but his own ego and desires for control of women, in the name of Allah. He is making himself a false God and he is speaking falsehood about Allah. There is no restriction on colors in the Kur'an. In fact, the Kur'an says that the diversity of people and colors are a sign and blessing for us. The Kur'an also describes that clothing in heaven will include those of specific colors, suggesting, again, that Allah has no problem with colors. The Kur'an also states that Allah created seashells and such so that we can decorate ourselves with adornments and praise him. Allah's names include the name for Beauty. One of his characteristics is of beauty. Beauty is not a black sheet thrown over a person to hide them while they tremble in fear that they may be raped by any stranger that walks by. This is a reduction of humans into animalistic behavior, where men are seen as rapists and threats, and that any woman who even wears a specific color is open and available as prey to be attacked. Allah encourages retraint, chastity, modesty and also fighting against oppression and persecution. It is time for Muslim women and men to resolve this issue and stop attempting to control women's bodies and autonomy. Muslim women should not allow fear of men to dictate their clothing. Muslim men must learn to control their sexual urges and nefs, and to appreciate the nature of a woman's soul (which Allah says is equal to a man's). If he cannot control his nefs, Allah has the solution: lower your gaze.

I don’t fully like the inclination that the hijabs purpose is to not draw attention to oneself - because that is negated when you live in a non-Muslim country, where most women do not wear the hijab and by consequence, every hijabi automatically draws attention to herself. By that logic, we would have to take the hijab off, which obviously is not the case. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the Shaykh is wrong, I just think that NOT drawing attention to yourself is not or at least not the main purpose of the hijab.

There's a hadeeth that says that when the order for wearing hijab was sent down to the Prophet Muhammad may Allah be pleased with him, and was mentioned to the women companions, they immediately cover themselves with garments that made them look like a crow, black. This is why Arab women mostly choose black for their outer garments. On occasions one though, Aisha was seen wearing red. But black was still predominantly the color of outer garments at that time.

You should wear what makes you feel you are being modest. Allah has given you the gift of free will, knowledge, and guidance. This is what separates us from animals. Use your gift and decide for yourself, what makes you feel you are being modest? Modest means: you are not flaunting what you have. The only rule for clothing is to cover your genitals and your breasts (unless you are an elderly woman, in which case you're exempt) and except in certain company. You have a lot of freedom for what to wear. Don't let people mislead you and take away your freedoms, that is an oppression on you against your human rights.

What I have understand by this video is The main motive behind wearing abaya is to protect women ourselves from catching attention from non marham. You can wear any colored abaya as long as it is not eye catching and it is modest in color. For example any nude or pastel or even white colored abayas. The shaikh said it is culture in arab to wear black abayas, but Allah and the Quran didn't give any restrictions in colored abayas as long as it is modest and not eye catching. In western countries if any women wear black abaya, it is also eye catching isn't it and it contradict this topic!! So wear abayas in the same as the society and environment you live in and that's how it will not be eye catching. But like red, pink, bright yellow if you can avoid those colors then you are fine😊😊. Correct me if I am wrong!!

Assalamualaikum everyone here❤ I read most comments on colors... There's one thing i understood from this video and also telling all of you so that no one will make false incorrect rules by themselves! . . . If you live in a country where people don't get attract towards black then wear it...! And if you're living in a country where if you wear black and people might stare at you then wear normal colors But not so vibrant... People who are saying colors don't attract attention also knew that they are wrong!! COLORS ATTRACT...and people who are saying when we wear black people see us but not with other colors....so they need to know that THERE'S A CLEAR DIFFERENCE IN STARING AND GETTING ATTRACT.❤ And people who are demanding to provide hadith and ayat on colors, need to know that there are some matters Allah didn't mentioned in Quran but set his beloved Prophet and his wives example Infront of us to learn from them....❤ So please everyone watch your words and don't make your own rules...!
@DullahNoor
@DullahNoor 3 ай бұрын
The Kur'an sent one specific line instructing the wives of the prophet about certain clothing. Are you the wife of the prophet? Estafurla, no you are not. Therefore, that rule does not apply to you. Stop peddling your oppression onto other women and acting as if it is normal or desired by Allah. It is not normal and it is not desired by Allah. İslam is a religion against oppression and Allah desires it to be easy for us and to have no compulsion. Allah states in the Kur'an that it is the highest shirk to forbid what is not forbidden and to enjoin what is forbidden. You are actively helping spread lies about the religion, which is forbidden, and you are placing limits that are not in the Kur'an, which is also forbidden. You are transgressing and oppressing and misleading. Regarding Hadith: most Hadith is not credible. And good luck on judgment day when Allah questions you and says, why didn't you follow my guidance? And your answer is, oh, I saw some man write a Hadith and other people were following it, so I thought I should, too. Allah will ask you what you did with your knowledge.

so it depends on where you go. For example in Saudi culture, the best colour for an abaya is black as everyone is wearing black abayas so of course a coloured abaya would stand out more. And I lived in Saudi before and differently, I feel like I fit in more wearing black. However, if everyone is wearing coloured abayas for example in countries like Emarat or Egypt, a coloured abaya would not draw attention. It would blend in with everyone and therefore draw no attention due to colour. unless the colour is bright red, tiger print, neon green, magenta or similar. Islam did not specify a colour but it told us we should not draw attention to ourselves when dressing modestly, which means the colour depends on the culture and what the norms are on what draws attention. This could be a personal experience only but I live in Canada and I feel wearing a colourful outfit (soft neutral colours) makes me fit in more versus if I wore all black I visually stand out more and I can feel the stares. I feel like black in this case makes you look more elegant thus eyes would turn.

Yes, the main purpose of wearing hijab is to not stand out or attract men, therefore logically if you live in an area where wearing black clothes isn't common or normal (and thus it attracts people's attention) then you should wear what the range of colors that are normal there in order to not stand out
@DullahNoor
@DullahNoor 3 ай бұрын
@@maryamsalah135Please be careful with your words. Hijab does not mean abaya. Hijab is not in the Kur'an in reference to women (read your Kur'an) - hijab refers to a metaphysical barrier, such as between Solomon and his horses, or between the people on their way to heaven and those on their way to hell, as in the Heights. The abaya is a construct out of oppressive Arab culture, and it is not İslam. Women are under suggestion (not an order) in the Kur'an to wear a jilbab (and outer coat) to identify themselves as Muslim to trigger protection in areas that may be unsafe. Separately, the wives of the prophet were instructed to wear specific clothing, which does not apply to any woman alive today because none of us are wives of the prophet.
@DullahNoor
@DullahNoor 3 ай бұрын
The point of your clothing is not about attracting or hiding from attention. The Kur'an says it is for purposes of modesty. That is all. You are not supposed to act in a manner that is too sexual, which encourages zina. That is all. Putting the two together, your clothing should not in itself be an act of zina. That is all. Colors themselves are not sexual and to a normal, rational, healthy person, are not going to tempt or lure a man into sexual thoughts. There is no reason why a healthy person will see a cherry red bedsheet and think, oh yes, sex, let me think of sex. That makes no sense. You are oppressing yourself and allowing men to oppress you by putting burdens on you that do not belong on your shoulders. If you are already taking the step to wear an abaya, that is more than what is required of you for fulfilling the rule of modesty. I caution you that if you go too far with this, you are training and encouraging men to not control their own nefs, and worse, you are encouraging a social norm that puts all women at risk of danger, because men believe that a woman who is not dressed in this all-black sheet are somehow complicit in their rape. This is wrong. Wear what makes you feel modest, and put your faith in Allah. Remember Al Fatiha: we turn only to Allah for guidance.

This makes me feel like everything will be my fault. Men staring, talking, and whatever it might be. Is it really that difficult to be happy muslim women? I wear long dresses (I love it) but my dresses are sparkly and colorful. I’m extremely picky about what I wear and not wear. I want to feel like a queen inside the house and outside. I don’t have the intention of attracting or wanting people to look at me. After hearing this, it makes me question my own worth. Maybe I may end up in Jahanam because I chose to wear clothes which attracted men.

Subhaanah Allah sister. Why would you say you may end up in Jahannama or you question your worth because of what this sheikh is saying? Islam is simple and Allah doesn't intend to make anything difficult for us. Be modest, humble and purify your intentions for Allah alone. Don't condemn yourself because some sheikh choose to tell you, even if you're modest, a certain color is problematic. Men are also commanded by Allah to lower their gaze. So if they choose to stare at a woman who is modestly dressed that's on them. Allah instructed us how to dress and not what color to wear or not to wear. I didn't see color mentioned in the quran. Islam is not meant to imprisoned women but some men want to make everything extremely difficult. Islam is not a person or a place and it is perfect.

Sister don't say like this!! It's okay of whatever color Abaya you wear. The is actually trying to say that don't wear anything which looks extremely attractive just like if you will wear neon color things its obviously going to make everybody look at you even girls will stare. So obviously wear whatever Abaya you want. And second Allah will first question to men's that why they haven't lowered their gaze🤷‍♀️ so don't think that if somebody is staring at you even if you are covered and modest it's your problem NO its their problem, they should worry about their jannat😊

It is important that the clothing does not emphasize her body. It should be as inconspicuous as possible (by the way, it is not allowed for men to present their bodies either!!! see sunnah of the Prophet sav), the color is secondary, preferably muted colors. I have also heard from a sheik that the Prophet sav does not like the black clothes. Christians often wear black, especially at funerals and other important events. Many countries are multicultural, so the black abaya is much more noticeable!

Here in subcontinent region, even if you are wearing a full black burqa men stare at you like deer in headlights. They have no concept of 'lowering the gaze' and they keep looking as if they have x-ray vision. Those who want to stare will always stare and those who know about true islamic values don't. avoiding going outside is not possible as sometimes you need to go out. Like for example when you need to go to the doctor. But thank you for clarifying this.

How exactly do you differentiate people's stare out of lust or stare out of interest or admiration, anger, fear etc etc? Not always you have other cues like facial expressions, what you have is their own outfit for you to better judge their mentality and based on that you guess their perspective on you. People are going to stare eventually for whatever reason. It's about statistics, I think us trying to decrease the chances of stares out of lust is what actually God wants. I am already hiding all my provocative parts, It's unfair for me to be responsible for people's interest, curiosity, hate ... too. And my God is fair. Sister, you are being misled. This person is telling lies about the religion - please read your Kur'an. There are only three verses dealing with women's clothes. There are much more dealing with men's behavior and there are also verses about the beauty of diversity, of colors, and of nature. Allah means beauty. You are allowed to wear colors and you can choose for yourself what "modesty" means to you. Allah will ask you, you individually, what you did with your mind and knowledge and the revelations he gave you. That means you, specifically you, must go and read the Kur'an and think for yourself about what it means to you. Do not take the easy way of following some person online simply because he has followers. The Pharaoh also had followers. The corrupt kings of Ad, Thamud, and Lot also had followers. Allah says the worst shirk is to be a false God and to forbid what is not forbidden, which is what this man is doing. Please read the Kur'an, wake up, and think for yourself.

After the age of 9 to 11, girls start periods and after the age of 12, boys start ejaculation. Girls and Boys may have full sexual desire after that age which may lead them to sins. Parents should haste in marriage means if Girls and Boys have maturity after that age then parents should try to find a partner for them.

A man should lower his gaze, it cant be that a woman has to do everuthing to the point where she cant even embrace herself and wear colors.
