JD takes on the task of getting this 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis running and driving after I abandoned it in the yard for months, and robbed it for parts.

JD has a better 'can do' attitude than most young people his age. And the fact that he doesn't get discouraged easily and let minor inconveniences deter him shows strong character. He will go far in this world. Great job and keep up the good work.

From experience, I know how difficult it is to get something done, film it, and narrate it. . all at the same time. JD is already much better at it than I am. I have a theory that we are all the sum total of our ancestors and it makes sense that JD the son of an electrician would be completely comfortable with electrical gremlins. I hate them. It's hilarious that you send the boy out to work on a car with a red negative ground cable. It's one of those things though that when you learn it the hard way you actually check for that. This was a really good content, seemingly on the fly.

JD! You have a really good dad there. Who cares a lot about you? And he takes the time to explain things and get a point across on how to do the basics! To have a father like that in your life is an amazing thing. Because there are so many young people in this world who don't have dads who are part of their life! Listen, always listen to Everything and observe. And never be afraid to ask questions because if you don't. You're never gonna find out! Good job and keep up the excellent work!

Ah the smug dad look. I remember it well. When I would do stuff like hooking up two ground cables or putting brake shoes on the wrong side, my dad would always ask me the same question, “well, what have we learned?” He usually wore a similar look to Dalton’s. Learned a lot from the old man.

I remember what I was told about working with electricity. If the wire is letting the little electric through, it is good. but if the smokes start to escape the wire, it is bad. you want to keep the wire good so the smoke does not leak out. Great job JD. Just to say, my car has one of those Red Negative wires too. Whoever owned the car before me decided a red wire would look prettier on the negative side... Oh what problems that has caused. But honestly JD, you are developing a great trial and error method to trouble shoot a circuit. You start with this one, and if you can keep the smoke in the wire, move on to the next one. You are learning well. Carry on JD, I am enjoying your vids... THUMBS UP

Being a similar age as you, raising my own kids, I love seeing your similar approach with them, I'm always trying to encourage my kids to go fuck something up to figure out how to fix it, how to find their own answers, and not constantly rely on someone else to be there or walk them through things. Let a kid burn themselves on a stove to learn how to make a grilled cheese.
