Nice content sir, very entertaining and informative. Videos like these exploring different aspects in a local community, in this case their culture, are always a treat to watch. One thing wrong with the subtitles I (think I) noticed was that at 3:46 the the woman says: "So we kinda all come together and do it. It's quite fun." Whereas the subtitles says: "so you can't all come together and do it. It's quite fun"

I think it’s a bit harsh to criticise to that extent as they are not aware of the test. However, I make a challenge like this because I basically want to present natural phrases or grammar structures that natives use in a fun way! I hope you understand

@@InstantEnglishUK thank you for answering. Now I understand the reason why you didn't grade them individually. I think that it would be an interesting experiment to make natives take the oral exam. I had colleagues that were IELTS examiners, and when talking about the flaws of the test, they all concurred with the fact that natives can fail the exam if they don't study for it. In my opinion, IELTS test your preparation for the exam rather than evaluate your actual language level. This is because you are expected to answer in a specific way in a determined amount of time. In my experience, I've seen people prepear for the exam, and get a higher score that students that have a superior level in the language.

If the score were based on reading, writing and speaking, the Scottish would pass 2 out of 3

OECD 4 = CEFR C1 = IELTS ACADEMIC 7.0 Less than 30% of Scots whith Bachelor's Degrees or above achieve it. Less than 20% in the General population. Writing and Reading are the barriers. Most individuals will achieve 5.0 up to 6.5 Overall, and 5.0 up to 6.0 on Writing and Reading.
