Coach, i'm from Europe, Croatia if you want to be precise. For about 12 years I only watched nba, but the last couple of years I really lost interest in the nba. I think it strayed away from what should really be. This is the first year I started to closely watch the Euroleague and I'm shocked how good it is. It's everything that basketball is supposed to be. Passionate, composed, exciting, hard nosed. Players don't just run around the court jacking up threes, not playing defense, traveling and carrying like they do in the nba. It's a breath of fresh air in comparison to the show that is the nba. I reccomend everyone to give Euroleague a try

There are specific players who may not be great in the NBA but can dominate in European Leagues. For example PJ Tucker surprisingly. One guy currently is Sandro Mamukelashvili who just sits on the bench but in Europe would be incredible cause he's much more suited to that type of game

Its not lower as much as its different. I.e Less speed less athleticism, more team basketball, more defense. Its very different but wouldn't say its exactly less talent cause those players just beat the US team@@AJkunVM

@@AJkunVMNick Calathes would be left in the dust in the US because of so much space and him not being athletically-gifted. But because Calathes had to learn how to play in that environment, those who left him in the dust in the US would not easily thrive here either. The court is smaller. Less space for Americans to exploit without learning the fundamentals on how to play team basketball.

Euroleague could hide defensive liabilities such as Kemba due to the no defense 3 in the key but it also exposes players with low BBIQ and bricklaying players due to the spacing. You can't dominate the Euroleague with just athleticism but the same time, some players in Europe wouldn't translate in the league since they couldn't handle the pace and athleticism of the NBA. Pick your poison

@arunasstunzenas4633
@arunasstunzenas4633 6 ай бұрын
And the answer is no. Simply cause it's team basketball being played in Europe. If there's player on the team who is dominating, so to say much better than his teammates, that team will be probably losing. Looking at the players mentioned in the video, Kemba is a total disappointment. He's currently 11th on his team in scoring, shooting 22,2% from deep. Parker looks good, but he's 5th best player on his team at the outside. Kaminsky and Dozier from Partizan looks satisfactorily, but there's at least 5 better players on the team, that struggling so far. Ibaka and Mirotic, both are good but far from dominating, and anyway shouldn't be on this list. They had plenty of European basketball experience before NBA. So shouldn't be on the same list with the guys without FIBA experience. We must analyze them separately. It is difficult for NBA guys without European experience even to be impactful, forget the dominating. Most of the guys need a year or two to adjust to completely different game. Some fits right away, some, despite good career in NBA, never adapt to new game. Kendrick Nunn at the moment is 6th in scoring and 11th in PIR on his team, with 14.3% shooting from 3. Most recent NBA player in Europe , Edmond Sumner played his first game for Žalgiris in lithuanian league, where competition level is way below Euroleague, and went pointless along with -5 PIR. Sure, it's just one game, and I hope and believe he will be a great help to the team I support, but no one here is expecting him to dominate. In fact, when a guy comes from NBA to Europe, it's more likely that he turns out to become bust rather than a dominator.
