I used FE Builder to make a gauntlet map to test gba fire emblem characters against every other class in the game. This installment features Colm and Neimi as our champions, and we can compare their performances against Roy, Lilina, Hector, Ross, Lyn, Amelia, Canas, and all the future units we will test in the gauntlet.

The issue with putting Sophia in the gauntlet is that fe6 dark tomes weigh less than in other games The flux is 5 wt and the nosferatu is 6 So she'd actually do worse here than she would in fe6 lol

I'll say Wallace again, he's not really a bad unit per say, and Armour Knight will carry him pretty far. But I honestly am here for his PRF run. With the Knight Crest! As he says in his Lyn chapter "COME, BREAK YOUR BLADES UPON ME!" Should be fun!

curious the freedoms FEBuilder gives you to implement characters from other games. Not asking for a unique GBA port of NES/SNES characters or skills in a game without those skills originally, but maybe having Cain and Abel or Alec and Noish compete in a christmas cav gauntlet would be neat sometime. Characters like Barst and Lex who are held back in their base games by heavy axes in the Sacred Stones engine where they can compensate for those things would be neat too! And, of course, the legend Arden... one day...

There is a rather large free to use (as long as you credit) sprite respostorty with plenty of gba styled sprites so it's not entirely oit of the question to give tbem sprties to be fair.

I love the dynamic duo, but I think they should have to split their 9 vulnerary sips! Otherwise the advantage isn't just two-on-one, it's double the healing, double the damage you're allowed to take, on top of being able to pick who tanks it. Changing my Florina vote to Farina, let's see if she's worth the money. (any pegasister will do though.)

@@bvd_vlvd Their growths are insane, their bases… not so much. And Astolfo is still bad. But yeah, as I said, they don’t get a promotion in FE6, so it was likely to help balance them out a little. Colm can promote, so his growths don’t need to be as high.

I dont know where this idea that fe6 is a weak game stems from, it has the most units cap their str/magic stats out of the 3 gba games. Fe6 units are weaker specifically compared to their own enemies, if you put fe6 units against fe7 or fe8 units they'd clear house. A good example of this is fe6 wade. At level 20/1, he has 2 more str on average than dorcas and 1 more than Garcia - and has higher speed than dorcas, higher speed than Garcia unless Garcia goes hero, higher defense than dorcas, and higher luck than the both of them. Another example is both Sophia and raigh, fe6s dark magic users, have way higher magic stats than knoll and canas at 20/1, have better defense stats than knoll, same or better res, and same or better skill. Their dark tomes are also lighter, so they don't lose as much if any speed from them. Lastly, let's look at fe6 swordmasters - in fe6, on average, fir caps her attack stat. None of the other gba swordmasters can claim that. That's in spite of her low growth, honestly.

Just a thought on the Neimi / Colm Tag Team idea. Great idea with the archers. But given that there is an advantage to getting two units, I think it would be more balanced overall to limit the vulnerary to ten collectively not ten each. Just a thought. and as for my suggestion, a tag team for Rebecca and Dart could be comparable. PS- also try a tag team of three Pegasus units. :) Get that super crit power attack happening.

I think you should have done the support! It's a fun run, get those extra stats! Plus, I really want to see Wil and Dart as a tag team. When I had max rank support with them, Dart's crit was higher than his hit most of the time. Wil's wasn't only because he almost always had 100 hit. I know the community hates on Wil, but as a pair the 2 did wonders for me on my playthroughs

Not necessarily a bad unit but I think rath would be very interesting since he could use his mobility to heal without taking damage (all cavs can but they don't mind being attacked as much since they can retaliate)

Prediction: Neimi loses to the Axe Trio, Colm loses to the Knight, and their combo run loses to the Mercenary Edit: I can't believe I thought there was a 4th Ax class. Also, wasn't the Steel Ax supposed to be a sword/bow so those units could actually damage the Knight?

Just found the series but I think this would be cool to see with promoted classes as well! Fire example Neimi as a Ranger with swords could add the flexibility needed to get through some of the tougher match ups like Sword master etc.

Someone who might be a bit interesting here is Dart. A lot of his strength as a character is the fact that he goes up to Berserker class so as a Pirate he could very well die somewhere between the axe gauntlet (due to no weapon triangle advantage) to the Myrm like Neimi.

Would love to see Rebecca go through this. The one I had in my FE7 run managed to cap Strength and Speed at level 20/17 without any boosters. She was so blessed that I sacrificed Fiora because she had gotten several great level ups that chapter already.

I think you should have had neimi and colm support, it's part of their gimmick where they start with being able to get C support, and can get A support very easily and quickly. Would have definitely helped with some matchups like the knight and wyvern knight I see that there are the random axe drops in the gauntlet still, doesn't that give an advantage to axe units since it lets them have the option to use the other axes if it would make a difference like being able to 2 round something rather than 3 round?

Honestly, Trec or Noah might be funny to do since they are kinda thrown away as the replacement cavs. In my last two runs for FE8 I did use Colm, once as an assassin another as a rogue, no reason aside from just liking his design. I did use Neimi in my last run and I even intentionally S ranked her swords over her bows because I thought it'd been funny.

When you rank the units at the end, there's a mistake in how you number them. Instead of 1, 2, 3, 3, 4 it should be 1,2,3,3,5 That's typically how it works in case of ties. This way it's a lot easier to understand the meaning of coming in a certain place. For example coming in 56th place means there were exactly 55 people who were better than you. But the way you number things, there could be 55 better people, or any number higher than that.

Honestly, you should do a secound run for each character were the character and enemues are lvl 20 promoted (with either steel or silver weapons) . You also should remplace the vulnerary with an elixier, because the vulnerary gives a disadvantage to characters who have more hp and don't get fully healed by a vulnerary. Also lance and axe users (both sides) should get hand axes and javelins (tomahawks and spears when promoted). They are just so common that it doesn't make sense to fake away these tools.

Ranger Neimi is the way to go. I always have her on my team when I play through SS again. I like colm but I’ve always hated the animations for the Assassin Class so I generally find myself using Rennac more.

Neimi is a good bad unit and early archer. Not particularly strong, but has an early promo item only she can use and can transition into a ranger that more often than not has rather good combat off just growths. Colm is just better Joshua. Both are fast and double easy, but being a theif is just much more important for a sword locked unit than having higher stats.
