Her damage numbers are just so… weird? Her CCs do 20 still, but her deflects deal 16 now? Even with a different animation, the bashes ALL do the same damage? No benefit for deflects? And then, like… her side heavy on the left still deals nearly top heavy damage, so why would you ever attack from the right side? I guess I just don’t understand where the numbers are coming from lmao why are some so different while the bash follow-ups are permanently set to the same numbers ahhh lmao

I guess that's what happens when you give a single hero literally most of the tech in the game: dodge cancels, neutral and chain bashes, wall splats, crushing counters, unblockeables, undodgeables, deflects. Some things are bound to be all over the place.

They nerfed the top heavy damage down from 27 to 25 bacause of the heavy parry punish. Afeeras strength lays mainly in her kit with the dodge cancels on a whiffed neutral feintable bash and being as safe as possible with recoveries and ccs on chain and neutral. They should look at her dodge cancels

6:48 im pretty sure that any chain light after any heavy is undodgeable if you buffer it apart from Zhanhu’s unblockable light.

@@JondalinerI just tested it, looks like conq and gryphon are the only other exceptions to the rule. Really bizarre, especially in gryphon’s case, could be an oversight.

ngl the warden in the first duel is prolly one of the best lookign wardens ever, does someone maybe know what set he uses? so i can totally not copy it

3:00 the unlock tech is pretty much impossible on controller I like semi know how to do it and how it works but it requires your hand to be in like 5 different places at one and it feels gross to do to another human anyway just not worth it. Afeera is good enough without it LOL. I think I’ve done it successfully on controller three times after like 2 hours of attempts

Afaera is still busted, gryphon made 1 Bad read round 1 and half his HP gone. Then her defensive options are busted too, ccs, deflect, Parry Unreactable neutral bash. Wallsplat heavy. Strong mixup where you get a heavy for both options (true 50/50 btw) and opponent gets less dmg from correct read than you. Dodge Cancels. They gave her every Tool known to for honor (besides variably Timed heavys) and now wonder why everyone hates afaera.

the backstep light change is a nerf? I thought it was just an overall balance change

It is an overall balance change on crushing counters, but Afeera benefited from this prior even more than other heroes and it was a key reason to how strong she was. So this was a huge nerf for her specifically.

Afeera is fine now. Her damage feels better to go up against but her mixups are just as oppressive. She’s fine as is now even if she still gets a really strong parry punish, at least it’s only on 1 side.

Good changes, now, characters shouldn’t be able to dodge attack after a dodge attack, dodge canceling dodge attacks make characters like warden much worse.

I agree, I lost a fight the other day because we were both 1 hit, I deflected a dodge attack, and he just dodge attacked again and killed me before my attack landed, I got off after that
