Very devote Catholic here....watched a symposium on Judaism....when Rabbi asked if he felt you had to be Jewish to go to heaven...I loved his answer....he said we feel you dont have to believe in God to go to heaven...if you are a kind person who lives a holy life you will go to heaven. I thought what a lovely answer about a lovely man.

This is a good priest, who really knows what he is talking about. But one of the comments here that they are praying for lots of money isn’t really what this priest or God wants us to do right now. Follow God and do his will and all things will be provided to you. we need to trust God. God wants us to pray, to love and forgive and remain calm during this troubled time. Peace be with you.

My husband doesn’t believe in heaven, or anything else, really. But he has started going to mass, and I continue to pray for him and ask both the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Monica to pray for him. In the fullness of time, God’s will be done. My mother says it’s possible to be good without believing in God, but very difficult indeed.

@@truthlifefishing1730 CCC 1030-1032 says that Purgatory is entirely different from hell, and not just in the sense that you can escape it. Hell is eternal punishment but the purpose of Purgatory is a reformation.

I know all aren't true, but many NDE have people seeing relatives or friends they knew and they aren't all Catholic. I trust God knows best and one group isn't more special, it's what you know and what grace you have been given at a certain time.

I look at it like a road trip. You can take the easiest route, the hardest route, the most confusing route, or even a dangerous route. Granted other routes can lead you to your destination, but how much harder will it be on you?

Great question! There is one way to heaven if you are catholic or Protestant or anything else. Recognize you are a sinner and believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and He rose again. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall have eternal life.
