You should grow orbeez in a jar that is half water and half oil, fill it accordingly and “then” drop the orbeez in so they “coat” in the oil before getting to the water and see if that prevents them from absorbing water or not!

if they did it when it was lit the flame would go out because of no oxygen and if it was the wax then it would pull out any bubbles if there was any otherwise it would just dry it :)

When I worked as a flooring installer, if the cement contained too much moisture and presented a danger to warping the hardwood flooring, washing the floor with vinegar was one of the methods we'd use to reduce the moisture

I just did a similar experiment last week! Mostly it was to see if hot vs cold, and covered vs uncovered etc. But I also had a separate test using everclear and 50/50 everclear and water. Everclear had 0 growth. Most of the beads had barely any growth with the mix, but the clear ones grew fully-- but had some kind of flaw and air bubbles formed inside. If you do another of these, do try vodka or some other alcohol mix maybe? (With ofc a don't try this at home for kids)

If you added food coloring to the orbeez water then tried to grow the flowers in the resulting dyed orbeez would the flowers take on the dye color as in regular dyed water? Would love to see you guys test it out 💖 thanks!

What if you soaked orbeez in water and then liquid nitrogen or if you took orbeez and put them in a humid environment to see if they pull moisture from the air. I would imagine they would just like silica but it would still be neat. That or microwave orbeez after they have absorbed water.

I would like to see Orbeez in distilled/high/low PH water & carbonated distilled/high/low PH water (assuming the Sodastream still works after everything you've done with it) there are many brands of bottled water that range from 3 to 9.5 PH. Be sure to have a way to test PH because bottled water isn't always bottled at the same place. Also, adding CO2 to water can lower the PH depending on the kH of the water (0kH will have a huge PH change but High kH won't.
