My husband had Parkinson's for 17 year. Every time we saw his neurologist he asked us for details about our lifestyle because his condition deteriorated so slowly. Vegetarian diet, walking kms daily, mental stimulation all played a significant role. He passed away due to a heart condition not related to his PD.

I share your feeling too. This is such a blessing since the information I have gotten from doctors in Sacramento is "sorry there is nothing we can do for your dad" There is definitely truth in food affecting brain disease. My father already tried treatments like deep brain stimulation & central spine stimulation but got nowhere. We then tried an experimental therapy at the regeneration center in Thailand and hired a PT and nutrition coach when we returned. So far it has really helped stabilize his mood and behavior. I don't expect him to get back to who he was before the diagnosis but having a group of doctors like Dr Berg means a lot to caretakers like me and my sister.

@@mariewendy3807 Yes. It increases dopamine in the brain, which is what Parkinson’s patients are lacking. But, any medicine that increases dopamine also has the risk of increasing other involuntary movements. In my MIL’s case, her head starting moving around in circles non-stop. The only thing that ever made it slow down or stop for a while was Marijuana, which is still illegal in our state, but we were desperate, so 🤷🏻‍♀️. She had a very severe case of Parkinson’s, though, and each patient is different. Other medications or drugs, like Cocaine and Methamphetamine, that increase dopamine in the brain can cause involuntary movements, as well. It’s a double-edged sword. @flamingpie herman, He has his own foundation names after him that does state of the art research on Parkinson's including stem cell research! If it was as easy as Dr Berg says, don't you think he and others would have done it! I think Dr Bergs suggestions may help delay the progression which would be huge in itself, but reverse? I don't think so! He's starting to sound as crazy as his mentor Dr Mercola. Your diet will only take you so far, not stop genetics!

@@Churbitser I think you're right. These recommendations can only delay. Reverse? Who knows. But remember, too, that the pharma industry is ultra-huge and powerful. Let's say that Mr. Fox's foundations did find a cure or were close to it. How do you think Pharma would respond to it? People finding their own cures? Ohhhhh nononono. Can't have that. Gotta keep 'em medicated. Pharma doesn't want to cure you.

Can u look into C. dif bacteria leaving the colon and migrating upstream to the brain, after antibiotic use. Searching underrated nasty bacteria when it gets out of hand. We should know more about this if we have neurological problems such as Alzheimer's Parkinson's MS. People who have had h Pylon and Helicobacter are susceptible as well. I really can't express enough, the daily use of prebiotic and probiotic. All of this is really important in conjunction with the intermittent fasting you speak about.

As far as iron goes, what is your tale on Cast Iron pots and pans? They seem to be the safest kind out there, although I am concerned about leaching of the iron. I have noticed my old Stainless steel pots and pans getting marked up by leaching at the very least the Nickel from them. These Stainless pots and pans are of high quality, but over 20 yrs old now and I am slowly replacing them with Cast Iron. Leaching Iron vs Nickel mmmm. I currently season my Cast iron 4-5 times which seems to help, but - never know. Many thanks
