Ten can devour many dance style. He proves it in hit the stage, having background in hip hop , ballet, jazz, b boy. Be it nctu, wayv its very evident . In his solo birthday, dream in a dream, nightwalker all so different. His solo album itself had with 3 song with 3 different dance style hip hop with tutting, latin, punk mj style. Always a suprise. Ten Taeyong, mark, jisung are surely the top dancers in nct , and generally each one of them is great dancers as nct has tough choreography.

@@hideInbushTT for people who are new to them or for those who aren't keen enough, it's not that easy to tell which one is better.. Also saying Ten is better than them in dancing won't take anything away from them especially since the members themselves say that he is indeed the best. Just like saying Mark is their best rapper doesn't take anything away from Taeyong and Ten. I mean Mark himself just said in one of their lives that he has yet to meet someone who can dance better than Ten. And again obviously, Ten can do all the chores they can do but they can't do a lot of the things that Ten could. You can't just disregard range and actual technical skills just because of style. Plus in style alone, Ten's style is inferior to no one in NCT that's why he always gets the solo dance break when they are all together.

I know some groups aren't as good as professional dancers but NCT I think had the best dance training and it shows. I've been watching dancers from different parts of the world for a long time and people from different crews may move a little differently but NCT members definitely move like members of a real crew (not dance battlers cuz they are different) especially when they are just dancing during dance practices and aren't bothered about singing. You don't have to discredit all NCT members' dancing skills and pretend like their opinions aren't valid cuz they are not "legit professionals". Anyone who can dance really well and who trained their ass off in dancing will always have a valid opinion. They may have different perspectives due to different backgrounds but discrediting their opinions just cuz it doesn't support yours is totally ignoramus. If Mark and the rest of NCT say that TEN is the best dancer in their eyes, who are we to discredit their very valid opinion being great dancers themselves? Even Bada said that it amazes her how some idols like Mark, Ten, Taeyong and even Jungwoo express certain choreos better than her so obviously they are at a pro level to give valid opinions themselves. Also, many actual professionals and choreographers who have been exposed to Ten (cuz Taeyong will always have the advantage of having more stages and exposure in mainstream kpop since Ten is in a Chinese subunit) actually mentioned how he is so good. Like there's Yumeki (who said that to him Ten is a real dancer recognized by dancers aside from being an artist/idol), S**t Kingz (T7S choreographer who said Ten was a dancer's dancer), Waackxxy (who was amazed by Ten during HTS cuz he's such a fast learner) and even pro dancers/performers on KZbin. Dancers from Great Dance Crew also went crazy for his performances. He even had a casual freestyle battle with a street dance world champion (Santa) and did really well and wasn't left out at all. Also, don't forget that TEN was the first NCT member who was included in the SM THE PERFORMANCE lineup even when he was still unitless. Nobody is trying to put Taeyong down cuz he is really a great dancer but people are just giving the most credit to Ten as a dancer cuz he is simply the best one in NCT.

Interesting because Mark was never a part of the main dancer line, but he has the groove and has continually improved over time. These three basically dance in different styles, but Mark is my favorite, and choosing him does not imply that I dismiss the other main dancers or say Mark is better than other main dancer. It's more like his dancing suits my taste. What I like about this group is that, despite being a group from the very first nct unit and regarded as an aces group, they have never stopped honing their talent throughout the years. You can see by their vocals, musicality, music production, rapping, and dancing that they have improved significantly even though they were already considered amazing when they debuted.

he wasn't in the main dancer line at the time of debut, but became one around 2017-2018 for all units, and in 127 he replaced Yuta from this position. multiple choreographers and dancers who have worked with NCT mention him as one of the most technically skilled dancers in the group, along with Ten and Taeyong (of course Jisung too, but just these three were mentioned more often). what's also fascinating is the fact that he didn't have a dance background, he started learning to dance after joining the company at 13 and only trained for 3 full years before debut. besides this, he graduated from SOPA with a dance major (2015-2018). he worked so hard to get where he is now

For those who are saying we can't compare cuz they have different styles, I say if you look at what is dance objectively, OF COURSE WE CAN EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A DANCER. Dance is an art of moving the body to a certain rhythm. It can also be considered a sport. With that, we can actually examine the INSTRUMENT of THE DANCER himself - his BODY. So we can check to see who is physically more dextrous, agile, strong, balanced, flexible, fast, stable, has more precision and accuracy in execution etc.. Basically, it's about body control and awareness and what can a dancer actually do with his body. On the ARTISTIC ASPECT we can see who has more musicality, better stylistic choices, who has more elegance and finesse, who has more attractive nuances and accents etc. Basically, who is better at expressing the feel or the story of a choreo and the music. And with that it's easy to say that TEN is the BEST. He is the most ATHLETIC (mind-blowing body control/awareness) and ARTISTIC (can tell almost any story through his dance cuz he's got so much range and is so good with getting into different characters) dancer NOT ONLY in NCT but in KPOP.

I respectfully disagree somewhat. By your argument, I’d agree Ten’s body is the most flexible and this allows him to perform moves that the others can’t. Taeyong’s body is limited by his flat feet and past injury (he’s been open about this). I’m glad he’s branched more into choreography and songwriting. Mark has improved a lot as a dancer but doesn’t have the same flexibility nor control yet. I think he still has room to improve. Artistic style is subjective. For me, I prefer Taeyong’s dynamics in general. But I also prefer some of the more contemporary styles that Ten can do. Others will prefer different things.

It just bothers me however how people credit and limit Ten's dance ability to his flexibility alone. He has so many things going on like his strength, speed, precision, stability, you name it. If you're saying that a body that's more well equipped to execute any type of movement doesn't give a dancer an edge over the other, then we really can't see eye to eye. Let me also add that indeed it's hard to measure artistry but range is not a joke. If you say that they are all equal simply because they have different styles, I say it's like saying a warrior who mastered close combat weapons is equal to a warrior who mastered close, mid and long range combat weapons. Both Taeyong and Mark have limited expressions and art is about expression with aesthetics so if Taeyong and Mark's dancing is already peak artistry to you, be my guest.

For me, watching people dancing is like watching art. And people have different opinions on art itself. Main dancer category not just by dancing itself. Of course execution is important, but also expression and many other things. Taeyong, Ten, Mark (i wrote it by age, not based on favorite) are all main dancers. All improved by years of experiences. Ten has longer experience because he starts early. Technique wise, of course its Ten. But Ten isnt as swag as Mark. Mark has the best swag and hip hop technique in all nct imo. And Taeyong? He is hypnotizing, hes move is so controlled and sometimes restricted, thats what makes him unique. So, technique wise it is ten. Mark is the unbeatable swag, but when u talk about stage presence, facial expression thats definitely lee taeyong. No one in nct can defeat that. Hes aura and persona is overloading, he is acting on stage. 3 of them are the main dancer, and also jisung. You dont have to be hell bent on defending Ten (he doesnt need that btw) or forcing people to agree with you, because everyone has their own fave.

Insisting your fave is also the best just cuz you prefer his style more or cuz he has more charisma or vibe or swag is in fact not objective. Although you are free to prefer certain styles more, when it comes to talent in dance, your fave isn't always the best. When it comes to determining a dancer's ability and mastery, both technicalities and artistry are important to consider and measured or else we can just call just about anybody the best. But as for artistry again since expression is the purpose of dance, being able to express a variety of characters and stories in your dance cannot just be set aside. Breadth of one's work is a testament of artistry. That's why in the world of acting Johnny Depp is one of the best if not the best actor cuz he is a chameleon who can take any role. That's why being confined to a certain type of role means you're not that good. TEN is the same. He is a dance chameleon who can masterfully express almost any dance. In his solo debut alone he did Nightwalker, Dangerous and Water flawlessly which all have different styles and vibe and none of the NCT members can do those three types of choreos with equal finesse as he did. Yeah they can do the steps but they won't be able to embody the feel of the music the way he did. And that is impeccable artistry.
