They don’t support simultaneous mixed audio via Bluetooth as well. The Homespot Pro does this. You can use it in conjunction with the Auvipal BCLINK 2-in-1, plus a USB-C to USB-A adaptor, in order to get simultaneous charging. For PCVR, the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless mixes audio from the PC & Bluetooth.

Would really like to see some company make a high end audio solution for VR headsets. Audio is neglected on most headsets. There's a "good enough to get by" mentality there. The Quest 3's audio is a perfect example of walking the line of acceptable audio quality for most people. But other than the Valve Index, no manufacturer seems to have tried to make an audio solution which aims at better than minimum. The market could really use a solution that provides actual premium audio quality and does not suck for usability. I mean, what really gets me about all these existing 3rd party solutions is that not only are they a mess to install and use, but their sound quality is trash just like the stock audio. Maybe marginally better at best. Wtf. Why even make it then?

If you can find them, the Soundcore P10 buds are pretty decent for a wireless option. The Koss KSC75 is also apparently popular as a more audiophile orientated solution but have no experience with them personally.

I love my Koss KSC75 clip-on’s for music games like Beatsaber. Q3’s built-in speakers have the best spatial/directional awareness for FPS games like Breachers.

I used those for 3 years on the Quest2, but with a 3d printed mount as the original clips didn't have enough clamping force. I'm using the KPH40 now which is better for gaming.

What I've been using is the DAS headphones with 3D printed mounts. They were actually meant for my Q2, but they still work on Q3. The cable can be routed in to be out of the way on my S3

Logitech g333 sound amazing on quest 3, just has to swap the wires for left/right and kept it clean and tidy. There are soo many earbuds out there that work on quest, that is if you don't mind earbuds. This type of setup, with a jack, clean, super easy and fast to take on and off, i absolutely love my g333 ones. I use the quest A LOT, watching movies like 5 movies straight sometimes. Those buds, make my quest life, amazing.

I've just started using my wireless headphones with my bobovr head strap, and it's absolutely amazing, get a little hot with active games, but I normally have an ac running anyway. you can actually EQ quests system wide using wavelet (legacy mode on) for android. it can replicate any headphone brand you select by using autoeq

I use the Q3 for game background sound and Shokz bone conduction headphones because the are small , fit well with the Q3, are independently fed audio via bluetooth. Matched with Voicemeeter audio package this gives me the most flexible option. Thanks for the great video's too mate

I’m using the HTC Cosmos Elite headphones and they are perfect. They have the plug on the right side too. I have to pump the volume up about 3 bars on the Quest 3 but the nuances I’m hearing in games now is wild. They don’t make my ears warm and can be pulled away from the ear quite easily. I got them on eBay for $55 USD

The sound on Q3 is good for me for most applications, which is great because my hearing is not. The first issue I had was Beat Saber and it not being loud enough. My solution was simple, the wired ear buds that came with my last few Samsung phones (or anything like that). I take the excess cord and stuff it down the front of my shirt and viola! No issues with the cord and the sound is awesome and loud. The mic also works a little better than the already more than adequate Q3 mic, so If I'm doing stuff like VR chat/Meta Worlds and I'm gonna be doing more talking it gives my voice some extra oomph.

The new bionic mantis for the psvr2 is actually a big improvement. The chord is shorter meaning that managing it is not that bad for the Q3 and the sound stage is much better, I even think it beats out the stock audio by a good amount. It is actually pretty funny that you put out this vid today because I just got the last parts I needed to finish adapting my bobo a2s to my Q3.

@@jaybratt Oh the conversion parts for the a2 were a longer 2.5mm cable to connect the two headphones to one another and an extension for the 3.5mm cable. Also actually modifying them to work for the s3 will require you to open them up and do a light modification on them. I would be happy to explain if you like.

My solution has been Sennheiser 6xx and a portable headphone amp in my pock. After watching the video, I'll just stick with that. It solves the issue with the audio warning turning the volume down because I can just crank it.

I actually had this on my speakers at my PC because I wanted the volume knob from the left one on the right side. That was easy though because it's on the of the red/black dual plugs so I just plugged them in the wrong way.

I’m an audio guy. I find the quest 3 more than good enough unless you’re playing a music game like synth riders. Then I’ll use some ear buds that plug in. Other than that I think it’s wild how good the sound is.

I use my Quest 3 in the living room so I need over the ear audio so I don't bother my wife as she watches TV and the TV doesn't bother my VR experience, best I could come up with is the Bionic Mantis, I have 3D Printed adapters which I drilled a hole in my BoBoVR M2 (converted to M3) sides and bolted the 3D printed adapters to (adapters get the mantis on a better angle to cover my ears). Not the best audio compared to other headsets (CV1, Vive DAS, Odyssey, Index, G2) but it's good enough and gets the job done for my purpose.

the end game for me are koss ksc75 with 3d printed mounts. their sound quality is amazing and if you replace the earmuffs the bass is booming on them. they usually go for 19-25$ and the 3d print shouldnt cost more than that as well (or free if you have access to one)

I am pretty sure you can reverse the audio channels on the headset itself. I had an old set of ear buds from the Quest 2 that I tried with the Quest 3. They fit the wrong way, but I just reversed the audio on the headset and worked around it that way.

I got the Conquest vr headphones for my Quest 2 since they were supposed to be universal, but they didn't work for my Quest pro or psvr2. I actually like them on my Quest 3 though. They're definitely chonky. With the S3, the whole unit has some heft and is basically a transformer now. The sound is excellent though.

I just use some over the ear Bose old QC-135 NC ear phones when I want extra thump. The cable de-taches from the headphones So I just leave it looped up inside the Elite strap. Also for casual play my Google Pixel Buds via BT is just fine for games like racing games, flight sims etc... but not for Beat Saber :)

I honestly dont mind the standard sound on the Quest 3. Im not saying its the greatest thing ever or there is no room for improvement, Im not insane or deaf, but its a big improvement over the Quest 2 imo. It just sounds deeper and richer than the Quest 2 did. With the Quest 2 I almost felt compelled to seek an alternate solution. With the Quest 3, not so much. Im actually fine with how it shipped.

I normally would use my Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headphones, though have encountered strange issues with it. For some very odd reason, if I use the Meta Pro controllers on my Q3 and am connected to the 6ghz router, the headphones get interference and distortion. Use the stock Q3 controllers, no issues. Use the pros and have no wifi connection (but keep the wifi turned on), no issues either. It's very weird and I have no definitive answer as to why beyond something is overpowering the 2.4ghz band the headphones are on in that specific use-case.

Quest 3 audio is big meh against Valve Index VR. VR Ears for Quest 3 are the closest match, but you should plan what headstrap you buy as well. I got "MQ Series Elite Strap with 15000 mAh Battery and Charging Station" and that works nicely out of the box.

What we need are some over-the-ear adjustable headphones that have a built-in microphone and the setup would plug both into your headphone jack and to the USBC but the USBC cable would have like a plastic panel on it. That also had a female USBC that allowed for full pass-through charging and pass-through pcvr. So it would have to be running like PD, 3.2 and USB 3.2 Gen 2, Etc. And allow a minimum of 27 w of power. probably a GAN

For me this was a major reason i held off buying a Quest 3. I had Logitech off ear speakers for my Quest 2 that was perfect. Then, my Quest 2 died and i made the decision to upgrade. I am sorry but the quest 3 audio is too tinny and lacks quality which pissed me off. 500 dollars and you can't make decent sound?? I am patiently waiting for a decent off ear system. If you're coming from the Logitech Chorus yeah the Quest 3 is gonna sound very trebley and not get nearly loud enough. I personally had a lot of issues with the Chorus and didn't use them on my Quest 2 though. I had an off brand set of off ear speakers that I still have on my last remaining Quest 2 actually.

I'm new to the Quest and have been using the in built headphones. My question is why can't you use Bluetooth headphones? Do they not work well with the Quest? I have the Sony Pulse Explore earbuds and was planning to use that with the Quest if I needed to.

They use older Bluetooth stack and there is a big latency. You can use Bluetooth only if they come with USB-C dongle which you connect to Quest and that features a newer Bluetooth chip. Still you get like 30ms latency. Audio is the biggest drawback on Quest 3.

I bought an extension and use the 40 dollar design that clips onto the strap. I had to cut 2 inches off the clip so it would take less space on the strap. I have to use double sided tape to keep them on the s3

I found the best price/performance compromise was a used Wifi6 router with Tri-band. This allows a wifi band to be dedicated to the Quest and avoid interference. My setup is more indepth than that as I play in a completely different floor to my PC, I agree finding info on what works and doesn't was tricky and had trial and error

Wifi 6E if you want good VR, Wifi 6(non e) works but not the best for certain games, Wifi 7 mostly not supported yet and too expensive for most people, Also may not be good if your router will be far away from your play area. ASUS or Netgear Wifi 6E router and you will be set.

I just sold my Valve index to get a Quest 3... I haven't even opened it yet... but I'm already feeling disappointed in what I'm hearing. Are the original speakers bad enough that you should want to upgrade? Index had perfect speakers.... I was expecting perfection since the index came out 5 years ago.

Internal speakers of the quest 3 is not gonna compare with the indexes off ear solution, but the audio is an upgrade from the previous internal speakers from the quest 2, as he said in the video most people will be fine with quest 3s internal speakers but for those who want to upgrade, these are the headphones he’s found and tested so far. The one he recommends would be similar in styling to the index, can’t speak on the quality difference as I haven’t owned them, but I doubt 50 dollar headphones will be a 1:1 with the indexes, I’m sure a good chunk of change went on them.

Hi JayBratt! Loving the vids buddy and have already subscribed! I am a VR newbie and have just received my Meta Quest 3 and the BoBo S3 headset. My only concern is I've just spent out £50 on a pair of wireless earphones that come with a usb-c jack. Only problem is I have just realised that it might of been a mistake as that's the only micro port that I can see that I will need to use for the battery pack. Hi!! Is it too late to cancel the order on the headphones? You will likely want that port for battery packs and the on board audio is decent enough you don't need headphones right away. The other option might be to get a USB C to Aux adapter if you still want to use those headphones.

Audio on q3 feels like an afterthought. Pretty sure the 3.5mm port doesn't support mic by design (confirmed when my first Q3 had a broken internal mic. i dont think usb mic worked either but i cant realistic do that anyway with how power hungry the thing is). also bluetooth is apparently too slow? never tried but that's what i heard. i suppose some games dont need a mic but not having a mic on my first Q3 drove me nuts (i since replaced it and life is good)

You should probably just get a nice set of actual headphones to use with them. There seems to be plenty of room for even most over the ear headphones to be used, and if you get some higher quality ones that need an AMP you can route that to your waist or something for FAR better sound.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but none of these are better than the issue that the stock speakers fix: comfortable audio solution. None of them are confortable. None of them actually solve any issue. Maybe sound volume but you can easily solve that with a basic Amazon wired in ears. I don’t get who’s buying these. Sound sucks compared to any decent audio brand I’m sure… regardless! Can you please do an external mic test in the future??

I loved the frankenquest 2 with the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap and got a new adapter to use with the quest 3 and it's again my favourite audio solution for the quest 3. Very comfortable and sounds great. I was also able to undo the cable from the DAS and route it cleanly through the cable management channels in the headband for the opposite side.
