We have more ideas we want to try to get the robot working everytime. What ideas do you think we should try?

How is she with other dogs? Would a brother or sister who doesn't have separation anxiety maybe help her? My dog learned over time that I would come home, and he slowly got better. That said, he weighs 8 lbs and my neighbors can't hear him barking because his bark is quiet. Or if they happen to walk by and hear him they tell him he's okay and I will be home soon. Somehow, that works hearing the neighbors tell her everything is okay. The other thing is maybe built it like the Furbo's so that you can actually talk to her while you are gone and dispense treats with your phone as you talk to her. What are you giving him to do while you're gone? Have you left her treasure hunts to find treats, puzzles he can solve, kongs filled with peanut butter, and toys that dispense treats? Can your robot play games with her, possibly throw a ball for her, and keep her mind busy? Also how much exercise does she get before you leave? What is his daily training regiment to wear her brain out so she doesn't have the energy to be anxious? Try taking her for a 45-minute to hour run in the mornings before you go, and spend some time running through her sits and stays and heals and downs and basic training, so she doesn't have the energy.

Thanks for the detailed suggestions! As of now, we've settled in sending her to daycare. She does better, but still displays some anxious behaviors there. We've tried the food puzzles and that helps distract her for 30 minutes. She's not much for other toys, but she does love food 😂

Silica packets secured in the talenti tub to keep the treats dry? Assuming they're moist treats and getting gunked up.

That's an amazing idea! It's dry training treats, but now that you mention it, we did notice some clumping over time likely from environmental moisture.

@@BaosBuilds hope it works, but overall I'm at a loss for how you can train Bao without negative reinforcement like loud noises. Like to have your voice saying no, could actually be a positive reinforcement if she thinks your voice means you will appear, which (in her head) might happen if she keeps barking! I don't know dog psychology, it's tough to have to leave them alone and secured in the first place.

How's the battery life on the sound sensor pack? I thought about making something similar but wasn't sure how to get decent battery life.

We used a small lipo battery pack. Didn't pay too much attention to battery life, but if we had to guess, maybe 3 days with intermittent use.

Lol. Glad the joke landed well, because I certainly didn't, jumping in the trashcan.
