Great breakdown, thank you! I wear the Root chest with Padded everything else permanently as I don't like swapping out armour pieces. The other factor is how likely I am to come into contact with dangerous enemies. While some make a habit of clearing out Fuling villages, I only clear out enough to get Flax and Barley. Then I leave the villages alone and focus on Fuling night hunting around my base instead. I don't have to travel to find large numbers of Fulings and get all my Black Metal this way. I also have a technique that makes it very safe to hunt night Fulings around my base. The Shamans don't spawn in random Plains groups at night so the Fire weakness of the Root chest isn't an issue. However, the Pierce resistance against both Spear Fulings and Squitoes is mega. In terms of Poison, nothing bothers me. I don't take Poison meads in the Swamp, nor wear the Root helmet. I've found that armour value does more than enough to mitigate Poison damage so that's all I focus on. I used to fear Blobs, Oozers and Leeches in the Swamp, now they are trivial with armour mitigation. I'm still a bit bemused by the Root legs. What is the purpose of a low armour value legs with Fire weakness but no bonus? Why would anybody wear this?? OK, the Bow set bonus but is that worth giving up all that armour value? Not to me, it isn't. By the time I get to Plains, I'm one-shotting regular Fulings if I hit them unawares with either Frost or Fire arrows fired from my lvl 4 Draugr Fang. That is enough for me. Sure, +15 might mean I'm killing Berserkers in 4 hits instead of 5. But again, not worth giving up armour value imo.

Root armour is great for farming Plains materials like needles, tar, cloud berries and lox hides in the bronze/iron age. The extra bow damage is useful for picking off the other Plains enemies from a distance as well. You really have to watch out for the shamans though but when you first get the root set there is no need to raid Fuling villages at this stage in the game.

I love the root armor in the plains. It makes the early days in the plains much less painful. The +15 archery (full set bonus) allows me to one-shot furlings and deathsquitos from a safe distance. Lox, however, will one-stomp you, so be careful around them! Root armor is a game changer in the plains (and of course the swamp), imo.
@TheZeptux2 жыл бұрын
my bow skill is 67, so when i equip this armor it's 82, and because of that i can stun loxes with my arrows and do critical damage each time that happens. This makes me able to kill a lox with 6 arrows which is crazy helpful, absolutely love it. But it's a very glass canon type build because if i get hit by a non star fuling with a regular club he takes 60hp in 1 hit! So i always have a shield at hand

How to get roots easy: Find one or more crypts, make a workbench next to it, alternatively raise the ground a little so you can jump on top of it. When an abomination appears, kite it over to the crypt and jump on top of it. The abomination can't hurt you. Take your axe and swing at it, be careful not to fall off, but if you do, you can enter the crypt for a while.

@guntherultraboltnovacrunch5248 Жыл бұрын
Resistances and weaknesses don't stack. Following rules determine which resistances and weaknesses can replace each other: Immunity overrides everything else. Very resistant overrides everything else. Resistant overrides everything except very resistant. Very weak overrides weak and neutral. Weak only overrides neutral. This can be simplified to: immunity > very resistant > resistant > very weak > weak > normal (with the exception being that resistant and very resistant can override the immunity).
