Seems to me like Samantha struggles the most with the hard K/C sound. Like the C in call and the C in Nicole. It's understandable since that sound is made at the back of the throat and can't really be seen... if that makes any sense.

Honestly I think the only reason it didn’t get the ‘how are you’ is because of your accent, not your voice! 😂 I understood that perfectly. I’m assuming you’re from Northern Ireland by the sound of your accent?

My mom had 8 kids. Four born deaf, and 4 became deaf or HH. I will watch more videos now. Have a great week. Oh, I am American, so we use ASL, which is a little different. I don't care. Hey Katie, although I never met a deaf person and my explanation might not be as accurate as in my native language, I think I can help to improve the sound of your F. Let me try. The reason why it sounds like a P is because it makes a popping sound. You need to push air through your lips and teeth and then divide those two components relatively gentle. The longer you're pushing the air, the clearer the F gets. And when you say ''How old are you'' the ''How'' sounds like ''Hay''. The last sound of ''How'' should sound like the middle sound in ''old'', so like a U. Hope you can find some helping words in here. Much love to the both of you Keep it up

I think the “hay” instead of “how” has more to do with her accent than anything else 😂

I learned SEE Sign - Sign Exactly English - years ago and it seems to not be popular in the USA like ASL is. I wonder why because you are speaking in sentences and it's helpful in learning how to write proper English. It uses article words like 'the', etc. Does anyone know why it's not as popular as ASL or BSL?
@katieandsami18403 жыл бұрын
BSL (or ASL) is a language of its own just like the spoken English language. But SSE is a mixture of spoken and sign language but it’s not an official language like BSL. SSE is borrowed from BSL and English to help Deaf children to improve their written and spoken English skills. The best way to educate Deaf children is Bilingual education where the Deaf child communicates using BSL (or ASL) and uses written English to improve their writing skills.

omg the frustration lol INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY AND BEING DEAF ARE NOT THE SAME-I will say that my sister with Down syndrome has a hard time getting Google Voice to understand her. I always tell her how we have to shout and enunciate at it cause my phone is just stupid lol She's def more chill when she sees that us, her typical sisters have a hard time getting the 'smart' features to understand us also.
