I'm a linguistics student and I love your videos (in general, but also specifically these two) because it's so interesting to see how someone's voice changes when you can't hear yourself/other people! It's so cool to see how the positioning of your tongue changes. I'm not deaf, though I am disabled, and I think this would be an interesting thing to research that I've not thought about before, and get more disability representation in linguistics! I've been subscribed to you for a while, but only literally just now did I think that this was something I could look into and read about more. Anyway, just wanted to share my strange epiphany here and spread my linguistics agenda!

Maybe we should create a petition or sommat for Apple to add an option in Siri’s settings for the deaf to record audio of them saying certain words or phrases & also be able to type out what they said in text form. Just so communication with Siri can be much quicker & easier for convenience you know? I don’t know if this is a good idea or not just thought about it so wanted to share.😅

Hello Jazzy, I know most deaf people very hard for Siri & search, same I have try voice to my phone, my phone Siri no understand what I was say something, my phone is know my word is Liverpool, but I try voice clean for long word is Southampton, I still so annoy with my phone’s Siri, but my mum was decided I have going to speaking and languages or me try my voice will clean, but this shame I can’t going to there over lockdown.

I am not judging your deaf voice, but like... that "sister" was really good pronouciation of "shit show". :D Also i think I can say word "birthday" about as good as you can, being hearing person, who is native to a language where sound "th" doesn't exist. It's a hard one to learn to say with hearing, i feel like figuring out mouth and tongue position for this one while deaf is pretty much impossible. :D

It's interesting for us hearing people, if you turn off the sound and just try to read her lips it does look like she is saying those words but when you turn up the volume it sounds totally different. For some reason it seems like a lot of your sounds turn into "s" or "sh" unintentionally. Anyway I hope Siri will understand you someday. XD ~:~

Oh my goodness! This was fun to watch. It has been almost a year since I had right sided cochlear implant surgery! Someday I will have left sided cochlear implant surgery.
