truly amazing, might I get the chance to see how you constructed gamma 3? please I'm a student I really love your designs however this rocket is too complicated maybe and I thought of downsizing

Great video! It was a fun day out and good to meet you in person! You'll definitely have to bring your water rockets again. There is plenty of compressed air on tap. :)

A rocket enthusiast here! At 3:32 we can see the exhaust expanding after leaving the nozzle. Could this power be put to use with a bell shaped nozzles much like in real rockets? Just to have a miniscule performance boost?

You absolutely could develop a theoretically optimised nozzle geometry as you mention for water rockets! The nozzles I use serve as the rocket's primary interface with the launcher, so has to have a garden hose connector geometry at least for now. Water rockets are a little different when it comes to nozzle optimisation since there are those distinct phases (water then air). I think you'll like this video from George where he makes a variable nozzle from some rubber. It's a passive design that automatically adjusts for the optimal throat diameter: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5bYqoBvjtV0ptk. I definitely think this would be a cool rabbit hole to explore with future tests with different geometries!

Great video! I've found that soap usually increases altitude by adding about 1/3 to the flight altitude without soap, however in this video it seems like it raised the apogee even higher than I was expecting! I'm curious about the diameter of nozzle you were using and how much soap you used?

I used a 9mm nozzle and probably not as much soap (can't remember the exact amount). The rocket was also at a much greater pressure than last time (100psi vs 80psi)

@arro_rockets Thanks, the altitude increase makes sense then. One more question, how do you properly form foam inside the rocket and especially how do you keep it formed? I've been having trouble with this and I haven't really been able to get much of a foam trail or an increase in altitude when flying. What is the optimal ratio of foam to water?

Those are some nice flights you got there! Regarding your Soap theorems, we might add another minor one which also could impact performance a little. The surface tension is broken by the soap so the water stream is flowing more smoothly and therefore reducing resistance. Might be a very minor improvement in comparison to the other benefits soap brings but still. Other thing, why is everyone in Australia, who is building larger water rockets?

Thanks for your comment! That is definitely possible, would love to get more people thinking about this and maybe drawing some conclusions one day. Also it might be a coincidence, but Australia is great for water rockets during the fire season 🤣

Could you by any chance share the step files for the nozzle you are using in 1:36?
