Sony would shoot themselves in the foot by not putting Elden Ring on Xbox. Some might get a PS to play it, but I'm willing to bet a good amount won't. Either because they can't afford more than one console or don't want to leave the ecosystem and their library behind. Then you will have the others that will just get it on PC and probably just pirate it just to give a big FU to Sony. That's what I would do if I was a fan. Then again I don't play Souls games. Basically, Sony would be flushing money down the toilet.

@Boom I'd really recommend you change the title from: "AFTER ACQUIRING..." to "IF THEY ACQUIRE..." The title easily reads as if Sony managed to close the deal.

From's strategy of go everywhere clearly shows it works. The reason the game sold like it did was because it was made available to hundreds of millions of gamers between last and current gen consoles as well as PC. Just take a look at the attachrate and PC gamers, as well as Ponies that can math, should be able to understand why cutting out the XBox is dumb.

12:40 I really hate this implication. The Market Cap of a company is what it is worth at the time, BUT that is not what the company is going to sell for. Bethesda had a valuation of approx 2 billion, but what did MS pay? Activision was approx 65 billion, again WHAT DID MS PAY. It's very clear that Sony only wants the anime publishing and Video games, but more importantly they want the, literal, thousands IPs, they get with them as well as early access to new up and coming IPs. That's the real play for Sony. On a side note... MS shutting down Tango is a real kick in the Richard for them if they make a play. They should out spend Sony and leave Kadokawa whole to keep doing what they are doing and keep out of the way unless they are not making realistic goals. Have them become Kodakawa-XBox and handle the Asian/Oceanic marketplaces as well as see just how world wide they can make the company. Edit: fixed spelling, claried some sentences.

It's annoying buying games twice, but I would probably buy a PlayStation copy and a Steam copy later. I already did that for Elden Ring because the servers are very different, PC is typically more subject to cheaters. I bought two copies of Horizon Forbidden West, Dead Island 2, and Elden Ring, so honestly in my case Sony would only make more money if they sold it as a timed exclusive

No. If Xbox gamers actually purchased games then yes. Sony wont invest in bringing games to such a tiny market as the Xbox platform.

Did you even watch the video? Elden Ring barely outsold on playstation despite it having sold twice the amount of consoles.

@@ronniepatterson2827 in light of Elden Rings sales numbers that were revealed in this video I would suggest you are way off base. More copies were sold on xbox than were sold on PC.

@@jacksonjacob7791 lol Pretty sure BOOMS angle in this has nothing to do with Elden Ring on PC my guy. He asked could Sony afford to leave Xbox out of the mix, now that FROM SOFTWARE is owned by Sony. The simple answer is still yes im afraid.

@ronniepatterson2827 he explained where he got the information from. He's talking about the actual sales numbers. If Sony can't afford to keep games off PC then they certainly can't afford to keep Elden Ring off xbox since it sold more on xbox than it did on PC. The sales numbers for the game in comparison to the number of Playstation 5 consoles sold is actually pretty pitiful. They should have twice the amount of sales for this game than xbox has.

Why would any publisher care about Xbox? Their users barely buy anything, they just rent Gamepass.

This is complete BS.

@ It’s true tho. Just recently, over 80% of CoD’s console sales were on PlayStation. Phil Spencer also said they have to release their games on PlayStation and Switch in order to make money, because Xbox gamers don’t buy games.
