To be honest the G4 prototype toys were equally bad. I mean, many came with misprinted eyes, Pinkie Pie had Fluttershy eyes, Twilight had Rarity eyes... And that pink Celestia.....They took trial and error to improve and that needs time. Same thing probably happens with G5

Sparky is like a mix between spike in the fact he is a baby dragon with magic fire, and Flurry Heart for the crazy personality LOL He is so cute, but In my opinion this set is cute and nice for me :3

I’ve just bought this set, just because I wanted the Sparky figure! However, as I’ve gone further into looking at the set, tje more I like it. The only problem is that the music button is so sensitive, and the music itself is so loud! I agree that it’s an interesting idea for the ponies to activate the music, but I also thought that the activation would play voice clips for that particular character, whivh is a shame. I do like the design, I most definitely like the figures, but I’m also beginning to wonder whether this truly was worth £36. Can confirm, ‘bin’ here in the UK does mean ‘trash can’, but do not worry about that! Bin isn’t a common name, and it has a nice ring to it,

AHHHH SPARKY IS SO CUTE!! I like that there are exclusive ponies with this set. But there are some flaws. Like there isnt a switch. But the best thing about this set is SPARKY!!!

MLP Gen 5 has been such a disappointment with the toys for me. The lack of brushable hair in favor of the molded on manes is disappointing, and why isn't there any merchandise of Misty or Opaline? Hasbro during Gen 4 also made toys of non-Mane 6 characters more often, so where are the 3 inch or bigger figures of those characters? If Hasbro doesn't up their game, MGA and Mattel will destroy them in earnings at some point.

It works best to put the character in and then do the play button. It's on a cycle so it cycles on.

I really wonder if hasbro losing the Disney license made mlp go down hill. Cause they are not getting the Disney money anymore. Kinda like when mattel lost the Disney and monster high went down hill.

Wouldn’t that only motivate them to try harder, though? From what I understand, both Mattel’s and Hasbro’s Disney Princess lines were bad because they would sell regardless. Disney makes their own high quality dolls exclusive to their stores, so they didn’t care too much about the quality.

When a company has a Disney license they have more money because Disney is paying them. Disney has lots of money. Which means they give hasbro/Mattel lots of money to make their products even if they don’t use all that money on the Disney product.

@@dollsandlizards I bring up Equestria Girls because they were clearly trying with it, even if the initial dolls weren’t the best. What’s not true is having more money. Disney doesn’t pay Hasbro, it’s the other way around. Licensees have to to pay the licensors to use their IP. Normally, some of that cost is passed down to the customer. I don’t really have a doll example, as I’m new this realm, but I know it’s why Lego Star Wars/Marvel sets are so expensive compared to their in-house stuff, like Friends and Ninjago.
