2. More viewers when we stream it
3. Advertisers will pay more money

Okay it's not really that simple, but to be completely honest I think the current competition format of everyone doing their own average is just not that fun to watch. Take a look at something like this and you'll know what I mean: • Weston-super-Mare Open...

About the cubing and music: Musicians may find it easier to learn algorithms because they are used to learning things like fast passages in a short amount of time and putting all of that into muscle memory. I found that, if I thought of a pll like a difficult passage, it would take a day of repetitions to learn the algorithm (I would learn one a day) and only a few days to get it up to speed. The other upside of this is that you don’t really forget algorithms once you learn them. So I would personally say that, yes, music helps with cubing if you know how to practice.

Good points. I am a musician and I can see what you mean. You take what you already know to implement it into what you are learning Music example: Improvising a solo and putting a bit of the melody in. Cubing example: Using triggers that are in other algorithms when learning a new one.

as someone that plays an instrument, although i dont classify myself as a musician since i do it for fun, i can vouch for this. i always look for parts i know/see that repeat on learning new algs or one part of the music

But music is much different. Music is mostly learned by ear. Not so much by reading. I can learn music easily because scales are a thing. Algorithms are nothing like that. The only thing you need to know about music is FACE, and EGBDF. There are 7 notes. As long as it sounds good it's correct there is no right or wrong. With cubing there is a right and wrong. Not in the way you solve it but when you do an algorithm. For example in Music you can play EGDG, or EGBD they are both correct. With cubing you can't change the order. The easiest way to learn algs is to Know a certain sequence Such as RUR'U' a sequence that comes up often and name it. And then everytime you see it use the name instead of the moves. And do that for common sequences, that are present in almost every alg. For example triple sexy is a lot easier to remember than RUR'U'RUR'U'RUR'U'

Regarding musical abilities and cubing, it probably has to do with one person abilities to learn. Whenever I've met somebody who's really good at certain thing, they most of the time are pretty good or at least above-average at other things. If you're already good at something, then it means you know what you have to do to get good, so you can just apply that knowledge to any skill you want to learn.
