Could almost hear that front lawn breathe a sigh of relief as you were rippin all that moss and thatch out. I say it every time - Always amazing how much gets pulled up. Nice one chap 👍

Your the only person I've saw using a edging blade in the UK, I've only ever saw it being used in the States. Like the company at me work only uses a mower and weed killer for the edges.

Yeah it’s a very commercial thing to do, personally speaking though I hate the look of brown dead edges 🤦🏻♂️, I understand how it works for time etc though, but for my clients - there’s nothing better than a clean cut edge!😄🌱

If you tipped the waste in a regular commercial tip instead of tipping in a dedicated garden waste bay or at a composting site, that’s going to cost more than double per tonne
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately we only have commercial sites here or council sites. Commercial tip is £43.50 per Tonne. Half Tonne £21.75 - not a bad price for removal of waste at all in my opinion

Hi Sam, interested to know…. After each pass, would you lower the height of the scarifier or would you keep it at the same height?
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance3 жыл бұрын
Hi jamie ! Thanks for commenting 💪🏽, genuinely you have to play it by site and feel, depending on how hard you want hit it, if there is loads coming out I’ll sometimes keep it on the same setting especially first couple of runs just to try to get the worst out then I’ll drop the height. If you drop it too much too soon, it will either be a pain to push the Scarifier, it will clog or you won’t get as good of a consistent scarification🌱 Hope that helps pal!

@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance think I have a lawn that would rival that for thatch & moss. Did a test scarification. It never been touched in 15 years. Got 1,400 litres out. I’ve decided to over seed. Fingers crossed. If this works I’ll be doing the rest next spring. We have 2/3rd of an acre so a daunting task ahead. I’m afraid to go at it in September because it may never recover.
