Nice work! I can tell you love your job! Nice to get all the kit out too! I noticed you use the long reach a lot on the sides. I personally find it easier, lighter to use the handheld battery trimmer on sides. Then long reach on top. I also have elbow supports for my tennis elbows! Where's your podcast gone to??? I'm having withdraw symptoms! 😀
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Hi Joseph! I do yeah, I actually started off using the short reach in this job but the clip failed during the editing phase! I found it quicker to go straight from the sides to the top, but I agree it’s a lot more comfortable using the short reach where possible, I should use it more 😅. You know I was just thinking of maybe getting some today! My left elbow seems to play up a little the day after trimming, do you find they help much? Just a short stop for Christmas as my laptop broke! New episode dropping tomorrow morning at 5am!😄 so that should be them airing weekly again 💪🏽🎙️
@josephmccole4132 Жыл бұрын
@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance ill set my alarm for 5am! Haha. Seriously, get some elbow supports. Doesn't matter how big your muscles are, tendons can still gey over loaded. I had NHS physio 3 years ago I struggled to do any hedge cutting! It's improved now. The felcro adjustable support straps are amazing. Not expensive. Amazon. They act as a buffer. So strain goes up your arm, hits support, then goes to your elbow. Plus exercises that will strengthen your elbow tendons are key. Most valuable equipment you have, your health! Look forward to podcast

Great job as always mate. Tidy efficient and professional. How much run time to do you get out of the Husqy chainsaw ? And what sort of price is the ego multi tool with the polesaw, made light work of that mate. Great stuff
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Oh I’m not too sure pal, depends on the amount of cuts and thickness of wood. I used 1 battery doing two small trees. I believe it is around £600/£700 with all of the attachments and a battery, the new combi is released soon though! That’s the one to go for 😄
@Autoreplychat Жыл бұрын
Sam, is that a Husquavarna Kombi battery kit? and if so is that your go to gear by choice, and how does it compare to the Stihl and Ego equivalents.
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Hi Mick! So the Husqvarna hedge trimmers are ones I’ve had for years now, brilliant machines which are all sole purpose machine,long reach hedge trimmer Husqvarna 520iHE3 & short reach Husqvarna 520iHD60. The pole saw I was using was the ego combi system. Which worked fantastic and didn’t seem to be a problem cutting through them branches.

Great vid, like the pricing breakdown at the end. One question, using the chipper/shredder. Do you charge extra to use that? Other option is to load the trailer up with the rubbish and dump, running the chipper costs you money. TIA
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thank you very much for commenting and letting me know 😄. Yes I charge a hire fee, £50 usually if it is just small use like this, £90 per job if it’s being used most of the day, it allows me to bring in something extra for the machine 😄. It’s great having the van and trailer but it’s still amazing how quick it fills up when everything is full size
@cbmortimer Жыл бұрын
@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Thanks for your reply. Question back :). Do you give the customer the choice of paying for the chipper or just load everything into the trailer and take it to the dump? Why would they pay the extra £50 on the bill? Thanks ;)
