That gorgeous little dresser that you left behind is 1 million times better than the one I had as a child. There are millions of poor families whose children would love that little dresser and there’s nothing that needs to be done to it to make it useful. It’s beautiful and valuable!

What? Dressers and end tables and that beautiful wooden vanity (he called it) doesn't sale at flea markets? I'd rather buy what he didn't pick up instead of a plastic drawer at a flea market.

Thought the same as you all. I was saddened to see him pass some items up. Items that can be used to organize any space would definitely sell, and or could be re-constructed. Just venting. 👍

Exactly. Picks up a trashy box "I can get five bucks for that" ... and leaves behind an awesome little buffet in perfect condition that I could sell quickly and easily as is for $125.
@jbrownke5 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I thought. Takes actual trash. Things that aren't worth anything but leaves a hall mirror with complete glass and could get about $50 bucks for.

You got some nice stuff. The plastic things w/ drawers, I bought 2 at Wal-Mart to go in my pantry. Put under the shelves to put aluminum foil, baggies, small grocery items ect.. very handy. Also good to go in closet for socks,underwear too.

Hey, teachers love those organizational drawers! Good call on those. Gotta love Snoopy! You ought to keep him. If not, he’s got to be 70’s. I would auction him. About those square galvanized tubs, I don’t think they make them anymore. I never see anything but round or oval, new, in the feed & seed stores. Keep up the good work! 😊

The black cart would sell great here in the San Francisco East Bay. We call them "granny carts or shopping carts".Everyone uses them in San Francisco since they travel by public transportation. Also most apartments do not have garages.One may have to park two or three blocks away and haul their groceries or shopping items to their homes.

@teresaashby93585 жыл бұрын
Me and dad used to do this all the time until he got too sick, bless his heart he always thought his millions would be in the next box or a bag of old jewelry at a rummage sale. Since he passed three years ago I have found some great stuff on trash days or when people have yard sales and set the rest out for free.
@thekingtroll22 жыл бұрын
Used pallets here go for at least $5.00 each for a used pallet. We have a lot of warehouses around here. One warehouse orders two 56 foot semi trailers filled with pallets each month. They sell that much stuff. They charge $20 a pallet. So if you get $5, some guy sells them back to the warehouses for $10 each. When he gets 500, that's some nice cash! I saw you pick up that aluminum metal corner bead. That stuff is as sharp as a razor! You had some pretty good finds today.

Wooden pallets are great for DIY projects. Homemade planters , bed platforms , outdoor bench seats ect. I use them a lot and it's hard to find good ones that haven't been ruined by rain. They are worth more if you treat the wood before selling or creating whatever you intend to sell

Honestly, you baffle me. You pick up some stuff I’d NEVER pick up, like the tree stand & barbecue, yet leave tons of stuff I’d grab in a heartbeat! Some of those tables, drawers, mirrors, etc., are pieces I’d buy in a thrift store to fix up. The glass in those large mirrors alone would be worth $20-$40. I know because we had to buy a new mirror to put in our dresser (beautiful antique) and it cost us over $40. Seriously, I’m confused. lol (Though I’d LOVE to have that square metal tub!)
@1stTimeVenture6 жыл бұрын
when i used to pick up pallets 2 ways in good condition got me 2-3 dollars, and 4 way pallets got me 5-6 dollars and heavy wood pallets got me 6-7 and 10 bucks for a heavy wood 4 way......then they regulated the prices on heavy wood ones...but id still bring in a extra 150-200 a week doing it..i just dont have time now..so now i separate it all for other scrapers and put it out on the curb.

Watching your hand gestures as you speak & drive reminds me of the Cookie Monster, lol It really does make me feel good when you take scrap metal away for recycling making it eventually reusable. So many good things discarded is such a waste and just adds to our problems today; makes me sad & frustrated with society in general. Question for the Garbage Pickin: Do you stick to the same routes all the time? Is there a schedule you stick by? Why don't you consider dumpster diving? Would you ever consider a partner in business?
