@wipatriot5102 ай бұрын
Not really a "travel trailer", while it can be towed, it was designed as a park model...
@luckydelauta38592 ай бұрын
The guest house idea isn't a bad idea if you have a back yard big enough to maneuver this into a manageable position. By "manageable" I mean a position next to a water connection, a sewer connection and an electrical connection. Also, you can forget the travel trailer idea because once you get this thing positioned in your backyard, you will need to put it up on jacks, level it and let some of the air out of the tires. Oh yeah, and you will probably need to install a concrete slab to park it on before you do any of the other aforementioned things. Next, this creature is of a size that will probably require a professional moving service to tow it to wherever you need it to be delivered. Even then, because of its height, you may not be able to get directly to where you want it because of bridges or other impediments. Finally, if your backyard is really where you would put it, you should first check out the local zoning ordinances to make sure it's legal to do so.

Jayco use to be a quality builder until they were bought out by Thor. I wish you the best of luck. I cannot stress enough, it is never a good idea to buy new. I encourage anyone buying new to go to the production facility and watch them be built, you will no longer want to purchase one. They produce many units every day. The total time from start to finish on a unit is only a few hours for most models. They are literally slapped together with glue, staples, screws (many not actually hitting anything) and the materials are cheap. My Dad sends me pictures of the D grade lumber stamping and bundles of the cheapest wood you've ever seen. A lot of boards come in looking like hockey sticks they are warped so bad. The dinettes, bunks, etc are made from 1x2's and 2x2's (yes, for weight but also because materials are cheap). Which also means they are not sturdy and have a short lifespan. The warranties and customer service is even a bigger joke. I truly wish anyone the best of luck if they buy new.

@billredding20002 ай бұрын
Yes, but then most (not ALL though) RVs made in America are pretty much glued/stapled crap. The Forest River (FR) conglomerate (a number of brands under the F-R umbrella) is one of the top crap-makers -- and has been for years to anyone who knows much about the RV industry (like Coachmen, which also makes towable RVs, or Thor is in the motorized RV segment). The exact opposite is true of Canadian and maybe EU-made RVs, which tend to be WAY better quality (with better warranties & Customer Care). People are so easily taken in by what they see on the surface (eye-candy) vs. looking a bit deeper...such as who makes the RV and how their quality (fit & finish/materials used) is -- or not. So ignorant/gullible buyers have been keeping the crap-makers in business for decades (and the American RV crap-makers thank them!). Also, most RV buyers don't even research how good (or not) a RV maker's "customer care after the sale" is -- FR's rating is poor...not to mention their RV dealers who don't take care of you even for factory warranty items (but that's also true of many brands). So while this is a very nice looking RV (even if a "park" model, which is fine), because of the simple fact FR makes it I'd have to pass... Now if a Canadian RV maker produced one, I'd be seriously interested. ;-) -- BR

@luckydelauta38592 ай бұрын
This isn't a tiny home, a travel trailer or an RV (recreational vehicle). In fact, it's not a vehicle at all. It's a mobile home, also known as a trailer. These are meant to be towed, usually only once, to their final resting place, usually a trailer (mobile home) park. For most people who own trailers such as these, they are their only homes, not second vacation homes or temporary residences. I lived in one of these things for 7 years of my younger life. Had a great time but wouldn't want to do it again.
@traceyl99592 ай бұрын
Why wouldn't you do it again?
@luckydelauta38592 ай бұрын
Two reasons: 1. Got tired of bumping my head and banging my elbows on things. Look at those lofts, they're cute places for little kids but the novelty wears off quickly. 2. There's a stigma attached to trailer park dwellers who are often treated as second class citizens. As an adolescent, it's hard to deal with.
@thoughtank10192 ай бұрын
@@luckydelauta3859 Totally understand. Those lofts are only good for either temporary use or storage, but for a single couple, the way cost/prices are now, it isn't a bad alternative, even for those retired on a budget, as the master bedroom is ok.

I've been living in one for 11 years. The upsides are things really easy to fix and DIY. It's cost efficient. My trailer is bigger than some people's homes. Utilities are low. Down sides. Though I own, I always have to pay lot rent which gradually gets higher every year. A small yard. No garage...and no matter how nice and clean you maintain your trailer, you are still trailer park trash. I could sell tomorrow for 60k so there is that but may give it to my kids as a starter home.
@macrichardson79042 ай бұрын
I can see how they cut corners to have this meet a price point. The windows are inexpensive, the ceiling wrap material is not $$, etc most of the materials are what we would call 'builder grade". That is not to say that this will not appeal to a lot of people because of its price, but this is 2024, you are not getting SOMETHING for NOTHING. Buy this knowing exactly what it is. It is not built to last, and it is not built to be luxury, its built to give you basics for a cheap price.

Hey aren't you an RV dealer which overpriced RV would you recommend 😅
@whateverthedaybrings2268Ай бұрын
I live in the RV capital of the world where these are manufactured. If anyone wants to buy a new RV, I highly recommend visiting a production line. The materials are cheap and they are literally slapped together. Workers are on piece rate and typically build anywhere from 6-20 units a day depending on the model. Workers on pierce rate get the same pay no matter how long they take. It incentives them to go as fast as possible and work as little hours as possible. Almost ALL RV manufactures work this way. Productions workers average 30-35 hours a week and some make well over 6 figures. It's all about getting units out the door, quality and materials are very poor. The show models look the best because they are built as show models and are gone through with a fine tooth comb. What you see is not what you will get. I can promise you this because I have built them and I know how poorly they are assembled. Your best bet is to buy used after depreciation and after they have been back to the service center for the twelfth time and had all of problems addressed. Which also happens to be about the time the owner who bought it new has had enough and just wants out from under it. You'll get it for half the price, or less and most of the headaches will already be dealt with. Thank me later!

And it’s awesome that is so cheap. But when you start looking at some of the parks to put this on be prepared to spend thousand dollars a month for rent.😢

That pretty much has the same capability as a four-bedroom house, really nice

Dude there’s someone with one of these here in Vegas at the park I’m staying at and I had to do a double take when I passed because at first glance I thought fifth wheel and immediately realized it’s not! I would love to trade in my 34 ft 2021 keystone cougar half travel trailer for this! And sign a new contract with you guys!

It appears to be nice, but I do know if you’re living or traveling in it those windows get ready for the heat. You never gonna be able to keep it cool but it is attractive if you live up in the mountains and you’re completely under shade, but other than thatlooks nice

A Canadian conversion that would probably be around 82K is still a pretty good deal.

Really nice! The expense comes in when you’re trying to dock it for living.

This is something i will consider when moving to acreage before my home is built. Any idea how they hold value for resale later?

Do you have more information about the model you're touring? Nothing comes up with the Aurora 42 Condo. Thank you for the excellent information and viewing. 😍
