Hi Miss Nancy, actually there are more expats like European, American, Korean, Canadian, some African prefer to live in the countryside,it is a countryside in a city, but have beaches or just along the sea/ocean, foreigners love local folks for they look after you if you need some help, don’t worry it’s always free Filipinos are the most friendly & hospitable people in the world.try. try to visit first, then you decide, or if not visit & see Tagaytay, it’s only an hour drive away from Manila & the weather is always cool the year round, a lot of foreign nationals also settle there like Australians & Englishman ( UK).. my husband is Hispanic & two of His fellow Hispanic are already settles down in the countryside, they are from Mexico but US citizens now, they said they are now afraid to live in America for they don’t know where is the place they are safe, since this rampant shooting incidents, are happening all over the country. I grew up in Manila and moved to the US when I was 26. Manila is a great place to live if u have money. When I retire I plan to stay 6months there and 6months in my new home in LA. Pollution is a big issue but it has all the convenience of the western world if you have the means. Cheers 🥂

BGC is actually two cities in one. The western and northern part is Makati and the eastern and southern is Taguig. It used to be called Fort Bonifacio, hence the name Bonifacio Global City. It took a while to have this sprawling metropolis as it is now. We used to go there with family when it is with S&R is just starting. Now it is old and new building s and establishments have sprouted here and there.

Sweet Spaghetti used to cater only to Filipino kids but adults got to like it too but seriously, if the Filipino's version of McDonald wants more money, they should have altered the taste to add a little sourness to it to attract many western customers. It is just a piece of Philippine progress, BGC is still undergoing expansion, there are also reclamation projects that have been approved and underconstruction right now that will transform Manila Bay into world class. Infrastructures are everywhere across the country; roads, bridges, cities, railways, and subways. What I'm excited about is New Clark City (underconstruction), the new capital of the Philippines. Let's just wait for a few years or decades!

You should visit Tanay Rizal guys if you want a little bit cold weather. It's a weekend destination especially for bikers and riders. Best time to go there is morning. Foods are delicious and mountains are beautiful.

I miss BGC. My family always go there when I go home. Their house not too far from there but the old crowded side. BGC (Bonifacio Global City). It was a military base before transformed into a nice city. Love that church they put in the middle of the mall. One thing amazes me there. I don't see any stores get bankrupt and close. Here in USA stores closing due to sky high taxes. So sad they don't even give incentives to these stores to stay afloat.

FYI, the combined districts of BGC (over 250 hectares) + McKinley Hill (50 hectares) + McKinley West (34.5 hectares) + American Memorial (61 hectares) is so much bigger than Jakarta's SCBD (45 hectares). Current and future developments surrounding BGC like Arca South (74 hectares), Bonifacio South Pointe (34 hectares), Bonifacio Capital District (160 hectares), Bonifacio East (60 hectares), and Acacia Estates (86 hectares) will only make it so much bigger. BGC alone is bigger than the city of Monaco (202 hectares).

Guys, try to visit Mount Banahaw (Philippines Holy Mountain), Laguna (Team BuildiNg Capital of the Philippines because of so many resorts all over the place of Laguna), Tagaytay (for Taal Volcano) and Baguio City.. I highly recommend it..❤

BGC’s general area used to be Fort Bonifacio, home of the Philippine Marines and the Navy. Where they are walking now would be where the enlisted officers barracks used to be and if I remember it correctly there’s an American WWII Cemetery to the north. Last time I was there was 2007 visiting my brother who lives there with his Filipino wife and their kids. He used to work with the US Naval attaché when he was still in the USN from 1984-96. Before that he was a Lt Cdr on USS Sterett until he got his Cdr bars and got transferred to US Naval Attaché’s office in Manila. He used to live in Bel Air until he retired in 2002 and now lives in Cebu City where my sister in law is from. We were supposed to visit them again in 2020 to attend my nephews wedding but Covid happened.
