I'm 55. My mother used to do me and my sisters' hair like this to go to primary school. Crochet needles were available but mostly used to crochet woolen garments by white ladies. The fake hair has come in leaps and bounds since then, but there was hair available which my dad used to tease us was actual ponys' tails (!). It was actyally rubber made to look like what later became "Amigo" hair, and the packs were long as a grown man. And very cheap. So tbh these and many other things I see with young people are not new, but revived better than they were. We've always been so creative with our hair possibilities. We just let Caucasian aesthetic rule us for a brief minute. It's so lovely to see young ladies embracing all of what they are and understanding that it isn't and never was "either /or". ❤

This is a cool method. But, I wouldn't use the rubber bands on the hair at all. The rubber ban by itself adds stress on the hair by itself and when you adds in the crochet to it you're adding more stress to the hair which can lead to hair breakage. You can do this same method without using the rubber bands at all. Start a Plat (with gel on it) and then crochet a breed/ hair(It's less stress on the hair)and do exactly what you are doing! Most people don't know how to breed hair but they do know how to simply Plat hair! It looks nice!

@@Lunaris3-in-1 whenever you have braids, keep them moisturized; dry hair locs! Also during take down, be mindful of the shed hair and lint which causes the knot. Use conditioner, aloe or glycerin to finger loosen the knot and shampoo to loosen the dirt. It takes time, but it's worth it and you only lose what you shed, not the entire braid.

You rock! Thanks for the creative ideas and clear examples. My struggle with braiding with extensions is the start. The bend and fold or loop and fold. IDK why my brain flip which piece to start with but it does. As soon as I can clearly see someone do that then I can get it down. I'm just going to have to count and label my way through it. Ppl start the hair different ways. Like my mom just bends the hair then start near the beginning of the hair. Instead of looping the hair in the middle and separating it into two or three pieces before applying it to the real hair. IDK, I'll figure it out soon hopefully. I subscribed to your channel. This is the first video for me. This style is beautiful.

Came out very pretty I usually do my own and I’ve been thinking of doing some really long ones, I’m glad you shared this method because I hate braiding my hair this will be much easier 🥰☺️

Absolutely love this as I have very thin hair and can't even attempt to cornrow it. The instructions are very clear. But don't think I could attempt this without help even so! I wish I had a Goombah gf around who would be kind enough to stay over just to try this. The other thing is you say ot is very short lived. For some of us this technique would still take HOURS. No video I've found instructs us on damage free removal either. ..😞

This is a great technique. Could you please let us know your Sis-in-law's feedback on how the net and the hair crochet into it impacted on the front row of invisible crochet? Basically you secured the whole back with the front role so it will be great to know whether the effect was low or high impact on the hair line. Thank you 🤗.

I do my own hair because i am tender headed. Impressed by the notless braiding and the fake corn rows. So cool. I must master my parting techniques. I was so much better when i was younger. Thanks for this vid.

Love it my sister in law did my hair, too avoid me from cutting my real hair. My hair is allot longer but we made it work. And it was my first time trying something new and I look like a new me. It's going to be hard to take down lol but it wasn't that long to do. Cute and easy look
