Expect that to happen to all Playstation games coming to PC, especially online games.. No real shock there.. Because that obviously was the plan all along, to also bring PSN to PC with their games.. Anyone thinking otherwise and thinking Sony was just being nice to us PC gamers to finally bring their Playstation games to PC is very naive about how these big multinational companies like Sony opperate.. Only mistake Sony made in their eyes now probably is not corrolating the sale regions on Steam with their PSN regions.. They are correcting that now.. Playstation and PSN were not available in those regoins before Helldivers 2, so probably were never part of the (go to PC) plan anyway.. In other words, I wouldn't be surprised if the game was never meant to be sold in the regions that were not covered by Playstation and PSN anyway.. That it maybe was some miscommunication (or lack of communication) between Sony and Valve/Steam.. So they made a mistake with Helldivers 2 and are now correcting it by scraping the linking for that game but still blacklisting it for new buyers in those regions.. Hence the quick response.. Meanwhile the PC community thinks they achieved some victory or something.. Well maybe, I don't want to burts those people's bubble, but this victory was probably only for Helldivers 2 and not other Playstation online games coming to PC.. And also still a partly victory for Helldivers 2 as long as the game is still blacklisted in regions without PSN.. We'll see if Sony is willing to also overturn that as well, if they even can legally.. I very much doubt they'll scrap their whole plan of brining PSN to PC over this, that's all I'm saying in short.. But we'll see..

It's been over a week and they haven't changed jack shit, but they enforced the region ban under less than 24h from announcing it. I highly doubt they took over one week planning it since they didn't even know the game was already sold in over 180 regions that PSN isn't available. Complete incompetence. It's called regions. Coming from Philippines we know Playstation games has regions (1-4). We can normally play R2-R3 (EU, Asia) released games no problem. (I'm talking about disc base games). Which I think the PSN follows.

Just so nobody gets confused about the PSN thing I've mentioned. Most of us Filipinos have SG/HK PSN accounts (R3). It just sucks that we are in a supported region but unsupported country. And It's not just PSN, We don't have Gamepass too. The GP we have here is the most basic type of GP. We don't have access to full MS library. Most of us here buys physical that's why even though we have a love/hate relationship with Sony, at least we can get all their games by discs.

Most people do not care, but they should because the most important thing which is Sony enforcing PSN is still up and it will probably be a requirement in a couple of months and also we are really not sure if the people who bought the game in those 180 countries are gonna be able to access the game when the PSN account becomes mandatory, as far as I'm concerned Sony hasn't say anything about the people who bought the game in those countries getting special treatment, but who knows. CEO of Arrowhead is just a people pleaser when it comes to that kind of information he knows what is going on and what Sony decisions are in terms of the future of the game.

I couldn't care less. I play on PS5. Games are much worse since they are on PC as well. Selling more on PC ,means less money so less games and less quality overall, on top of the PS5 quality hit (arrowhead can't even work on balance while bug fixing, theres a reason the PS5 version looks like a psvita game). With a 55% sales percentage on PC, they only made 28% of the revenue, while constantly losing money on servers as PC don't pay for online. The balance on games is all fked up as well, as everything is balanced around mouse and keyboard. While the devs have to deal with the migraine of PC fanboys Crying about controllers being op because aim assist exists. Then you get crossplay lag and cheaters. PC crossplay needs to go. It ruined online gaming. No shit everyone is mostly playing older games now. It's there only to appease PC as the console playerbase keeps PC on life support since most games have a 90/10 split for console/PC. Especially in the long run, where PC peaks in the first week with mediocre at best numbers and then any game is lucky to have more than 10k concurrent players. So all this shit is actively making MY EXPERIENCE WORSE. I'd rather them drop PC entirely and focus exclusively on playstation. THAT is what brought the quality games in the first place and since they stopped, the quality dropped. That and the wokeness with diversity hiring. Playstation should be about playstation, not fkn PC games in Uganda and Burundi.

Well is over. Being there done that. If Sony wants to run their own launcher, it will be just the same ordeal as MicrosoftStore/GFWL, EA Origin, Ubisoft Uplay, Bethesda Launcher and many more. They will force you to logging and use their launcher, even when the game is purchased on Steam, then they probably remove their games from sell on Steam in one phase, and you can only buy them on their Launcher, then, they will entice you to use their store front by giving you some of them for free, then after the whole thing fails, they will come back to Steam, but with a silent logging like some of the Microsoft games. It will never change, the problem is not making a new account and using another store front. They simply will not provide the same service quality as Steam, ever.

I agree 100%. It's wild to me how many people defend Sony by saying "those that own the game can still play". Brother... Many people refunded because they were going to be locked out of the game. Sony locked those countries out BEFORE they announced they were going to make linking as optional again. Furthermore, even if they didn't refund, they have friends and family who now can't join them. If you wanted your girl friend to play with you but she couldn't buy the game to play, can you really play the game? Anyone in a relationship would answer this as NO. You aren't going to play the game, you're going to move on to play something you can play with them. And here's the kicker! By not following thru, if those countries remain locked out we actually made it worse for those people. They could create an account, break the TOS, and risk getting banned (which no one should have to do). But at least they had a path to play (as sketchy as that was). But now they cannot at all. Some say "Sony doesn't have to sell to people they don't want to" (including those who refunded). I'm sorry but only selling a video game to 15 countries out of 195 in 2024 is absolutely wild. Especially since it wasn't that way at the start. Who else but Sony has wild restrictions like this? And people are defending this?

I think you hit the spot right on, I just changed back my review to negative, the victory euphoria is gone for me (and I had a press key I didn't pay for which says a lot). Still love the game, but due to numerous bad rebalancing/IG bugs, it starts to get old, especially as you see less players joining open games those days (I wonder why). 180 countries out, 3 achievements to 100%... Life taught me to know when to walk away from people and we are talking about a game here. Enough said. My time in Helldivers 2 is almost up. Been a nice 500 hours ride, somehow, we all feel it has lost its way and hasn't getting better lately.

I read some comments on reddit saying that they blame PC players for not being able to buy the game at all in the restricted regions because they used to bypass PSN via VPN and nothing would happen. New(?) bug, if you play with 2 divers and your fellow diver leaves while you pull the electric lever, you can never complete it, not even if someone else joins and tries it. Also, anyone noticed that even though on mouse and keyboard, the game tries to use autoaim, which messes up your actual aim because it tries to snap to targets behind objects..

SOnY can bite me, if they add forced PSN to any of their games I’m not paying for them, a launcher makes some sense for them but if they want my details they will need something better than one extraction shooter (becoming a victim of player gear standardisation) and a bunch of third person generic action adventures with stealth, RPG-stat and map-mess features.

With my limited knowledge of currencies I'm pretty sure that's how it works yeah. So if their currency has low conversion value to the us dollar, it will cost them an exorbitant sum to buy something that costs dollars. Meanwhile their full months groceries in the local currency might cost like 60 dollars and that might be a sizable chunk of their paycheck. Because the local stuff is comparably cheap. Same reason a tourist after conversion would have a lot of money to spend.

Realistically these regions don't even make up 5% of the player base or sales. The other thing is that Sony for over a decade has had these regions delisted/banned from PSN and PS exclusives. So this isn't really anything new, it's just people are a little bit more aware of it now with all this happening. Every game Sony sells exclusively, or every console they sell, they account for the fact that none of these regions listed are people they are selling to, so they are accounting for those lost sales, how little or many they actually are. The other thing too, is that people aren't entirely aware of how the delisted region system works either. So while it says "Japan" is delisted, it isn't. Japan actually has their own version of Steam and PSN, they even have their own version of HD2. The Japanese HD2 version has two different Super Credit types, one is the regular Super Credits we all know of, the other is called Premium Super Credits. The same with the Philippine's. While it says they're delisted entirely, they aren't. Many people are just kind of going about this the wrong way, and while Sony did mess up by selling to these regions in the beginning, I fully believe they never intended to, especially since they intended to have PSN linking at launch, but the CEO of Arrowhead disabled it.

Hi oh dough So im not really an active player but I have a question about the warbonds I got roughly 500 sc when I hit 1000 I’d like to buy a warbond I bought the cutting edge for the inf ammo gun ( that really helped out a lot a lot ) But I’m thinking of either ( not that I got the first warbond maxed and now using the last weapon of the free warbond I’d like to either get the fire shutgun or the deagle secondary from the newest warbond) But Because I don’t actively play I’d like to play with strong weapons to… So wich warbond is to get for the „best“ weapon or the „best“ secondary?

The first premium warbond that has jar-5 and incen breaker is the best for primary's the demolition warbond that has the grenade pistol is what I'd recommend after that

As someone on the sidelines whos technically unaffected by the Sony debacle, it still has a passive effect on people like me too cause honestly anything I see related to Helldivers atm is either hatred for Sony or people annoyed with balance so it definitely feels like "the honeymoon phase" is over. I think the whole Sony thing really sucks too, not only for the limitations, but it also makes the whole general mood around the game pretty sour and many of my friends don't play anymore because of it.

If it's tanking already they may seek to tank it more in order to register the "loss" for that quarter. Then the next quater will look better when they implement pending fixes, in order to make it look like a there is a bigger effect from thier "efforts to turn things around." See? Effectivey, scrub the bad stuff now even if you have a fix, then implement the fix next quarter to make it look like a bigger difference.

I genuinely haven’t even opened the game since even before the Sony drama except for once after everyone reverted their negative reviews back to positive. And first game I joined I had the reinforce bug after we had a patrol immediately walk into us when we spawned. The Sony drama just really shot them in the foot. Can’t even be fucked to open the game.

Player counts on Steam Charts show a loss of 40-50k of players every week starting with the big weapon nerf and then into the PSN account debacle. With the low number of players, I am pretty sure we won't make this Major Order either.
