to fix this job permanently you need to solder the steel line so it is stiff, the reason is not changing is the line gets stuck in housing, apply solder with a solder iron then is fixed for good :)

Hi i am in the process of fixing mine as its jamming In the video at 1.23 u can be seen disconnecting the cable. Is this inside the van or in the engine area as its not clear from video I have got as far as clearing the cable from the dash Cheers😊 @DanielH

I put a new cable but still not working, when I try to move the selector it's always very hard and the wire rope bends instead of pushing or pulling. Someone have any suggestion? Thx

Maybe the problem is not the cable. Try to see if the part that is moved by the Cable is not stuck in one position

@@DanielH thanks, I did it, I moved it several times and used the VD-40 even on that part but nothing at all, maybe it's a little too hard, I don't know. My Vivaro is very old, I bought second hand and there was no cable and that part was fixed on windows. Hope my english is understandable...
