I love you, bro. Very long time watcher/subscriber...but first time commenter. I've been watching since you did the interview on Frightbox with Bobby. That's when I first saw you. Since then, I try to NEVER miss one of your vids, and I soak up every bit of knowledge you have to offer, and if I don't fully understand something, I watch it until I do. I truly believe in you. That you're genuine, honest, and have a very real desire to make every song the best it can be in the eyes and to the ears of the people who created each one....to make sure the message is conveyed in THEIR vision....and to share the knowledge of the process you have acquired along the way. My mixes suck..lol..but are light years ahead of where they were before I discovered you...I can't say enough, bro. Much peace, love, and appreciation in your direction... It's free, but priceless knowledge to those of us who have the same desire. KZbin-land can be brim-full of bullshit a lot of the time. I've never felt that way for one second watching your channel.. I'm not a huge Jason Mraz fan, I am a metalhead at heart, but I will leave u with one of my favorite lines of his... "I feel like you’re an island of reality in an ocean of diarrhea.". ✌️

There are a lot of channels on KZbin that try to teach mixing and music production. For me, who I choose to trust comes down purely to what their work sounds like. The quality of your work has always been top notch, and that's why I continue to come to your channel to learn. I don't need KZbin to feed it to me!

I literally hate everything about social media. The algorithm is predicated on a system that has essentially destroyed all the value of social media and the internet in general. There is just so much garbage out there made by people who are merely trying to make a buck regurgitating click-bait nonsense rather than actually valuable content. I appreciate the information that you put out Jordan. It's actually helpful. Glad you're going to be focusing on that.

I don't usually comment on KZbin, but just wanted to thank you for everything I've learned hear. I'm happy for you to have this realization! From someone who got accepted into your mixing program, but truly can not afford it, I'm so thankful for the free content you have here. The videos that helped me most were probably the least popular ones. The magic frequency/ eq videos and the newer deep dive compression videos have changed and improved the way I look at mixing in such a short amount of time. I can't wait to hear from the other engineers you've trained and trust. That's one thing I love about URM, it's nice to see how different guys have their own approach to pro results. I think that's a brilliant move for your channel. Thanks for doing what you do and always evolving as a teacher!

Thank you SO much Jordan for being true to what “drives you” - I’m sure we all benefit more from the content, when it comes from the heart. I’ve allready subscribed to your channel, joined your mailing list etc… A quick little story: Back in 2014 I had BIG hopes for a future in mixing. Back then I watched a lot of your content. But it all crashed because my ambitions were quite frankly “deluted” - I thought I wanted to do this for a living but my ambitions were not matched with equal devotion etc… It made me sad, but eventually I stopped recording, writing and playing. I now have another job as a teacher - I love it, and I’m good at it. But the music was switched off for almost 8 years. But recently my spark for just creating music for myself was reignited. I remembered your channel, watched a lot of your free content, downloaded your free mixsheet, bought your book, bought two workshops and invested in all the plugins from BSA. My mix litterally sounds twice as good as the things I made earlier - even with a 8 year break, rusty skills etc… I now have a job I like which is not related to music AND I have reignited a great hobby - partly because of your channel. THANK YOU 🤗

You're so spot on about the burnout of playing the game. I remember, maybe in blissful ignorance, a time on youtube where people just put out content they they were excited about and just wanted to share what they thought was cool and what they were prideful of with people. And now it seems like everyone is just going at it for views and clout. I, too, often get bummed where I put hours and days into videos and am so stoked about a song for it to just get shut down by KZbin. But you know what, at the end of the day, for me at least, I'm just sticking to doing what I enjoy and hoping that people vibe with it at some point. However big or small the channel gets. Thanks for all your videos, man. Definitely been helpful. 🤘

I've found the advice you've given very helpful, I'll still look up a "Magical..." video if I'm struggling with something, or just need to refresh. I thank you for that, even though I doubt I'll ever be able to justify the expense of doing a course, or becoming a paid member of a community, it's just not where I'm at. Money aside, I just can't make it a priority to be that focussed for it to be worthwhile. I doubt I'll maintain focus long enough for an hour and a half video on automation, despite knowing that I really need to! You do You, and let us worry about KZbin! Incidentally, while typing this, my phone got a notification from Discord, "Glenn Fricker has just uploaded a video to KZbin". That's how I know when he has, whether KZbin tells me or not. I don't really get into Discord much, wrong timezone for there to be anyone to chat to really, but it is the main method of me knowing about his uploads. That might be food for thought. In any case, I see no downside to this new direction from my viewpoint, the mixing tips and tutorials was why I subscribed a few years back, if I want entertainment value, I'll watch idiots doing stupid stuff! Be well!

Without question, this channel has increased the quality of my mixes more than any other channel on KZbin. I'd even say the progress made has been exponential. The no BS approach and lack of "old man yelling at cloud" energy is a plus, and I like the fact that your videos aren't thinly veiled ads or product demos for companies who send you free stuff. When a plugin shows up on your channel, I know it's because you actually use/recommend it, and it's being discussed because it's actually relevant to the topic at hand. The mixing cheat sheet is an incredibly useful springboard for beginners, as is the instrument mixing tutorial series. I also appreciate that instead of whining about how autotune ruined music or how everyone really should be putting a bunch of mics on acoustic drums when it's simply not practical for the vast majority of people watching, you're just like "Let's fix that hole in your mix to bring the energy and excitement back in." Direct, easy to understand tutorials for the modern musician or budding producer... this stuff is essential and invaluable. Forget the algorithm. We all showed up because we wanted to git gud, and we will continue to show up. Keep doing what you do best. Cheers.

Same applies for a channel like this, every video has been very concise and incredibly valuable in what you offer. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to grow a larger audience, sometimes that comes with a cost of shaking away some atttributes or style that made this channel unique and wonderful in the first place. The music producer side of KZbin has been freaking insufferable lately and 90% of the time I cannot get through 30% of a video, because it's the same old stuff, re-hashed a million times, because people are playing it safe. Which again I get, but there's just nothing there anymore with any substance. Even URM Academy is falling victim to it. I am literally finding myself watching your 4-year-old videos and these are more interesting, more insightful and more helpful than anything new, even though I have *already watched them*. KZbin unfortunately has the industry in a stranglehold and it's very very hard to move from it, but I hope it happens soon and you guys get a platform that actually deserves the level of expertise and dedication that you're capable of.

And I see this pattern that most of your amazing videos have comments that indicate how wrong you are, whereas some other shitty videos on other channels get praises by people. That's just a picture of the world right now: the fight for quality is real, everywhere in everything in this world. So, if possible, please keep up the quality work for us. Respect.

Your automation video for me is the best video I’ve seen in a long time. No one really talks about it or shows it most likely because to so many it’s not exciting but the value I got from it amazing. I’ve been a long time watcher and look forward to whatever you put out next

As one of your students I had to comment when you said the YT Rabbit hole cause I will say that although I learned a lot watching Videos and your videos. But I know that after being in your course for about a year I can honestly say It turned me from a underground mixer to someone who with the help of you and Roelof can give pro results to todays high production standard. I am proud to be part of the PPS love everything I learned and the community. Hope it continues growing.

Things have changed so much, so I feel for you mma. Running your own business, but being at the mercy almost if another company, and having to guess what they are thinking so far you can plan accordingly for to be able to scale, I would imagine it would be 24 hours of stress. Plus you can trelesse one video once a week anymore like you could years ago and people would be patient till the next one. Now you have. To push every. Day. Everything is so fast with social media that people need continuous brain stimulation or they move on or forget. Just like music, if it ever becomes something that causes stress or sadness, I’m out for ever how long to reset. You’re a good dude and I feel for you. The channel doesn’t define you, you being the kind of person that wants to help people learn iOS and whatever else. Do what you need to and always put your mental health before everything.

Just teach what you feel other people need to know. I feel like the videos I’ve saved and come back for from your channel are the ones that were definitely from you perspective and unlike anything I could find on other channels. You’ve said some pretty important, helpful things and if they’re not your most viewed videos, I’m still glad they’re out there.

Just put on notifications so I won't miss future uploads at whatever pace you feel appropriate, forget playing to the algorithm it's a race to the bottom. Thank you for your videos.

As a new channel myself, I already feel this hard! Finding the balance between following my interests and serving the algorithm / audience is challenging . Thank you for sharing it so honestly!

i appreciate your transparency and your desire to be authentic. there are several channels that i used to love that have succumbed to doing what the algorithm wants. their videos suffer from a lack of content and creativity and it's clear that they're just trying to get clicks. your videos have helped me tremendously so i just subscribed and i look forward to your new content!

Should have subscribed a couple years back but apparently never got around to it however, you've helped me in my mixing & recording journey so much. Thank you very much Jordan, finally got around to subscribing to your channel. Looking forward to the future of your channel...

Thank you for all that you do! This channel and your instruction and tips, as well as some of the BSA plugins, have been an absolute godsend in my process of recording, mixing, producing my band's latest album on my own. I plan on getting the ebook this next paycheck, and I look forward to further go down the rabbit hole when I wrap up my current project and have time to study while we write the next album. I'll be looking out for all future content!

Well, for me personally, your channel was like game changer, because approach of real pro is different comparing with other sound makers on KZbin. Boost same frequency on kick and bass - wtf!? But it works much better then hours of surgical cutting. Your cheetsheet - Jeez it really helps! All guys on KZbin makes rewieus on different models of 1176, but what i saw here - old fashion Waves and it's work like a beast, if you know what to do! And other stuff - tips on vocal compression, drum works, bass works, and automatisation really really cool lessons! I rewatch this all the time. I don't know what will your decision about channel, but thank you for your time and inspiration, and my best results in mixing really starting from here, i tell you... Sorry for my bad english

I’m one of those followers who’s been taking advantage of your free content for years, and it’s transformed my mixes. It’s exactly like you said: I’m hoping to become a paying customer one day because I know how much value I’ll get. Music is a hobby at the moment so have to priorise what I invest in each year.
