After stumbling on this video online, I reached out to Dani to ask about tabs or some help playing this. I am relatively new to guitar but this inspired me. I had been working on fingerstyle all along but this became a quest for me. On the business side, Dani is extremely professional, very responsive, and easily approachable. On the music side, his talent speaks for itself but his instruction and video are equally as good. Thank you, Dani and best wishes for continued success. And to anyone wanting to learn this, I encourage you to reach out to Dani, send him a Venmo payment, and get the tutorial. Someday I'll do a lesson with him as well.

7 months ago I stumbled across this extraordinary player... this is, hands down, the best fingerstyle version of the song that I've heard. So, I took it a step further and took an online class with Dani, via Skype. It was really, really good... he went through the entire song, section by section, then sent a video via Dropbox for me to study. There's no TAB, but honestly, you won't need it once you have the video. I want to say that Dani is a really good teacher.. he has serious chops and is sensitive to where you're at as a student. What struck me most, though, was his demeanor... he's kind and radiates such a joy of playing music. As you can tell, I had a great experience with him. I plan on taking more lessons, as I can. Thanks, Dani.

I still have my copy of the original Blind Faith album purchased back in 1969 and have listened to countless versions over these many decades. My brother, that is the single best rendition of this song I have ever heard. You are remarkably gifted. I play fingerstyle but can only dream of ever becoming as fluid a player as you are. Peace.

I wish I kept half the albums I had during the late 60s. Blind Faith one of my Favorite band's. I've started collecting vinyl's again at flea markets. Some rare finds. Most have tons. And many vender's don't know what they have. I've found some real gems. Love the 60s music 🎼🎶 A real creative time.!

@@reddragon3733 that is awesome that you've taken up the time to recover some of that lost nostalgia. Most young people don't realize that half the joy of owning an album is the covers. Some of the most extraordinary artwork and photographs, as well as information on the musicians and other ancillary facts that one would otherwise have no idea regarding the artists and songs.

@@lancehaley9417 Amen Lance! I was lucky enough to have a friend that owned a Flea Market. People would bring him boxes of albums from the 50s 60s 70s. Some classical, some Orchestra, Sound tracks, Plays. But I love the mid to late sixties Rock all the way to 70s. I now have several milk crates full of Rock Albums from these times. I have to go through them and clean them. But Like you said, "The Artwork" on some of these albums was 😃👍. I loved buying albums back in the day. We'd put on the album and listen, passing the cover around discussing the songs, artists and Artwork on the cover. I don't see young people doing that at all anymore. Everything is electronically stored. But vinyls are making a comeback. Stores like, Newberry Comic's & FYE have vinyl racks. Nice to see that. In the eighties there was a store called Coconut's that had vinyl and CD's, etc, but they had turntables with headphones 🎧 and you could listen before buying. The store didn't last more than a few years but I'd be there once a week. It reminded me of the record store's of my youth. Have fun 😊

@@reddragon3733 P.S. one of my best friends during that era worked at the record store. So anytime there was a new album or concert about to be announced, he'd call me to see if I wanted him to hold an album or tickets for me. It was quite the perk, and all my other friends loved that I had that connection. Saw a lot of famous acts from the first five rows or so at the various venues in KC. Including the front row for Peter Frampton's first "Comes Alive" album tour before the album really took off and he skyrocketed to fame. It was this tiny venue called Memorial Hall - 3000 person capacity. The following year Frampton played at Arrowhead Stadium (KC Chiefs) to a sold-out crowd of 50,000+ fans. Suffice it to say, I passed on that concert. :)

as wonderful, beautiful, groundbreaking, and profound our older generation's music was/is (Blind Faith, The Beatles, ELP, Jimi Hendrix, CSNY, and on and on), there's an underlying tragedy to it all. Because one day the composers who wrote and played it, and the legions of keen fans who've always loved and sanctify it will soon be gone from this Earth, and I don't detect many of younger generations who will provide careful stewardship over this precious material. It just makes me so sad.

Wonderful playing, Dani. I've been playing this song for nearly 50 years, and you've opened up a host of new possibilities. What tuning are you using? OK - I think I've worked it out - Drop C tuned C G C F Bb D at the nut and capoed up 2 frets to give the equivalent of Drop D at the 2nd fret. D was the original recording key, although a more recent Steve Winwood is in C, presumably because he can no longer hit the top B in the chorus. Top A ain't bad, however, at his age!

@@steveshaw1713 Many folks have asked; not sure why Dani hasn't replied; perhaps he has, earlier in the thread here. He does a tremendous job covering this great piece of music. Steve Winwood's recent renditions, that I have heard, are in the same tuning as would be Dropped 'D', but after going one 'whole tone' lower. There is a nice rendition with S.W. here on YTube sitting at a fireplace flatpicking arpeggios through the piece. This rendition here, of course, is wonderfully performed in every way. I guess the 'studio album' would have maybe 4 guitzr tracks; and I'm hearing clean segments of each within this cover of Dany Vargas' terrific rendition.

That was absolutely gorgeous. Are you playing it in a key other than the original D? I don't have perfect pitch and I don't have my guitar right here, so I can't really tell. But, seeing the capo on the second fret and hearing what sounds like an open tuning, I'm very intrigued as to how you're playing this. I'm having a little trouble deciphering your chord shapes visually, which is why I'm wondering if you're using an open tuning. (Perhaps an open C hiked up to D with the capo?). At any rate, bravissimo!

Just like the original, just drop the bass E down to D, and you're good to go. He has the guitar tuned a whole tone low though, so he can really lean into the bends and vibratto. Despite the capo at the second fret he is still playing in the key of D, like the original. Played MUCH better than either Eric or Stevie could, with all due respect. I have always wondered who played the classical guitar on the original track, guessing that it might have been John Renbourne. Really beautifully played, very expressive and stunning imagery to boot! I am 70 years old and have been playing it since it came out. This version by Jay Lock is pretty spot on too kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn3dYZpol5afq7s
