Can't Login To Wordpress Admin - Error Fix

This video will show you how to login to WordPress and then fix a simple login error while in your dashboard.
Please note that if you do not have this exact problem then this might not work for you. If you do have the problem and try to fix it the instructions must be followed exactly.
This is not the only cause of this problem but people often overlook this error fix because it is so simple.
Unfortunately this error started to haunt me again recently. I employed a brilliant editor to put the finishing touches to articles and schedule them in. All was fine until she came across this error of not being able to login to WordPress. This error was only for one of the sites but it could not be left for too long as content needed to be published.

This is absolutely the BEST fix when you get the mod_security problem. It has worked EVERY time on EVERY site that I have. Simple and you don't have to jump through a bunch of hoops.

Oh. My. God!! Thanks SO MUCH for posting this! There is a TON of utterly useless advice on the WP site and elsewhere about 'troubleshooting' login problems but no where do they list the correct URL for admin login. Unbelievable! Thanks again!

Thank you very much. This saved me a lot of headache. The wordpress folks need to have a warning message letting folks know of the this discrepancy rather than simply not allowing people to login. So dumb.

Ahhhh.... it works! You're a genius! Thanks so much. Now, having said that, I still COMPLETELY agree with the sentiment of the last commenter. WP creates more problems for me than it solves. The only reason I still use it is that I have spent so much of my time trying to learn how to use it, I'm pot committed. Maybe next year I'll strip down my site and start all over again on a different platform. Recommendations are welcome.

Yes, It DID work. In my case there was no www at any of the two addresses in settings. I put them in and Voila. First I had to reset my password. Thank you very much.

This video is very simple. It show the exact error and then shows how to fix it. Yes there are hundreds of possible errors that happen just when logging in. This fix will not suit everyone. If you're a beginner and getting frustrated then hire an expert to help. :)

How would you access it without being able to login, And knowing full well 100% which plugin it is that is causing the problem. And fruther more not have a restore option on the hosting site you used? Just curious, Also i fixed my issue because i figured out i just needed to restore to a spefifc date.

I just wanted to say Thank you for posting this video. I've been getting the redirect for the past few days, as well. I disabled all of my plugins manually, via my www directory on my localhost and somehow that resolved it the first time. I did the same thing today and it was not budging. I came across your video, found the work around for the login and even though the url looked the same on both for me, I copied the top, pasted it to the bottom and for now, I am able to login on the admin side. Thank you so much! Even if that is not a total fix, I can at least always us the wp-login! :D

I was wondering if you could help me. I can log into my wordpress account, it allows me to see my posts, but I cannot access my actual blog, I cannot customize it, I can't do anything. Even when I click the support button at the bottom of the page it always says 'Unable to access the network'. You can also see the site url and the home url in your wp-config.php file on your server. This will also show you the database name.

This is so broken, I can't login with any method. I'm signed in to the wordpress site and it shows my email and everything, I try to login to my site as admin and it says the email isn't registered to an account, that's impossible I can see it in my profile on wordpress so it definitely is registered to my account... how is it this broken

I guess you could edit this info on your sever but that would be another video altogether. You can google "edit WordPress site settings on server" and choose the first option. They have a good way to do this.

I had the same problem, and the way I got out of it was to add these lines of code to the wp-config.php define('WP_HOME','example.com'); define('WP_SITEURL','example.com'); In other words change the url settings manually from the wp-config file.
