It's one of my favorites too. And it is generally overlooked. And apparently they were to end the song less than 3 minutes, and end right before the jam. But the did jam and the recording continued until the end. Upon re-listening they decided to keep the extended jam. My appreciation for it strong, but it also reminds me that I asked for the record (Sticky Fingers) for my birthday present from my unmarried slightly prissy Aunt. There was a big family party for my birthday and for the first time, I got to choose what music was played. Of course we played the hell out of SF. Later in the party I wandered into the grownup gathering upstairs. The Aunt who gave me the record then announced to everyone in the living room (esp. me): "I don't understand what the name of the album means --'Sticky Fingers' ". I was just drunk and whatever enough to explain it to her and show her the album cover, real zipper and all. From then on she gave me sweaters for my birthday.

One of my favorite Stones songs but I always dread listening to Mick Taylor’s solo as he flubs the notes at 5:32 into the song and I have always wondered why it wasn’t re-recorded. I was living in the moment then and can't recall their setlist or most of the supporting acts. If only I could've looked forward a good 56½ years. I think we all went wild when they launched into Satisfaction their current and arguably greatest number to this day. The ominous The Last Time remains my fave...

It always fascinates me that especially Keith & Mick have lived an epic lifestyle for over 50years before they were even 20.
I never understood why you can't go faster than light - until now!
