Hi! Mortuary worker and body preservationist here! Looking at the specimins, they immediately rang a different bell to me- they look like the bodies in Body Worlds! That would mean they could actually be in water, because they're already preserved by a different method altogether- plastination! That would actually make it MORE expensive, though... most labs charge around $13,000 USD per body processed in such a way... but he could, in theory, have done it himself.

Hi! Tarantula keeper here to weigh in on the charging for spiders! At a glance those appear to be texas tan tarantulas, the movie is a little dark but that's my best bet. Assuming he's a tarantula hobbyist like myself and wants his tarantulas to last, those are likely females (they could be males also though, you can't tell for sure unless you examine their molt) They seem to be about 3 inches each by comparison to his hand size. In theory he could have raised them to that size? But that makes the charges a lot more complicated because he needs enclosures and feeder insects for literal years so I'd say he just bought them at that size. That would go in the range of 120-150 dollars, plus shipping. If they're males that probably knocks 75 bucks off this price but males do not live very long. The question is really whether the collector wants a cheap tarantula army or a tarantula army that will last

The main reason I remember these films is that when I was younger, I saw the trailer for this one, and for the first time a horror movie didn’t look scary, just absurd. The Collection is simply too ridiculous to be very frightening.

I do project management work for a manufacturing company and was absolutely floored at the cost the Collector (Collectioner?) would have to incur for every purchase in this movie. A million dollars could get you: - An industrial filtration system without installation costs, or... - 2-4 bucket loaders (depending on if used or new), or... - A dozen rough terrain forklifts (pending costs), or... - The installation of an industrial-grade rotary dryer with installation, commissioning, and a generous contingency fund At the amount of money this madlad spend in just preservatives for this movie, he could probably start a small shipping business instead of...you know, artistic liquid taxidermy. Talk about disposable income.
@drunkwendigo269311 күн бұрын
It's important to note that the collectors father was a museum owner and an entomologist as well before he went crazy. Who knows what kind of inheritance money John collector would have gotten from it, meaning he very well could afford everything unless we only count what he personally makes from his job.

On the vats: they would put the fire out. Water and alcohol is more stable as a liquid than just alcohol. Where alcohol on its own immediately turns into a vapor through which flames can occur, water and alcohol emit much less vapor. But even just alcohol in high volumes doesn’t combust on contact. Like if you sqirted a stream of lighter fluid on a match it would put the match out, but if you did the same to a pilot light it would catch fire, but pour a cup of lighter fluid on the pilot light it would put it out, and so on and so forth. As a goldsmith i use denatured alcohol every day because it won’t catch on fire with my oxygen/propane torch
