Can the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 Handle Video?

I use it as a bcam to the xt4 as it has the same sensor and video settings. Makes life easier when more than 2 angles are needed in the same time.

Yeah it's really interesting because it's the exact same sensor and settings, but functionally a completely different user experience haha. I won't be surprised if the Pro 4 comes out as more of a hybrid.

@@gunairy if the xpro4 comes out as a hybrid, I think it would be like shooting their own feet because it would be competing with xt5 that is the definition of very good hybrid. When I compare my xpro3 to my xt4, I realize that I paid the same technology more expensive because it's so called photo centric. So basically you pay for the same sensor/motherboard maybe, and have less features. In my opinion, but I'm no expert, xpro4 needs to be radically different, not just a rehousing of the same technologies for which we pay more cause they're making us believe it's for a niche. The xt4 is a camera that does everything better than the xpro3. It's like buying a Ford f150 or whatever for 10k, and buying the f200WE that is a rehoused f150 for the weekends but with less features, less speed, only place, no trunk, no roof. Hell, it's the same guts lol

@@REMY.C. Right, I couldn't agree more! I think they put the same video features in simply because it doesn't make any sense not to as it's the same exact sensor and chip, so my thinking is why not at least make it user friendly for video too since those features will be there one way or another. If the only way they set it apart is through some odd screen design, then I'm not going to be upgrading haha.

@@gunairy agreed. The next iteration must be a revolution for me to upgrade, not just an evolution.

You may have found out after this video, but you don't have to scroll through all the modes to switch between still image and movie. When on still image, you just have to scroll one step up and you're in movie mode and down one step when you want to switch back to still image.

That’s a good tip! Yeah I still hate having to go into a menu at all vs. shooting on the T5 where you just flip the switch over to video, but of course the Pro cameras aren’t designed to be hybrid cameras at all, so it makes sense they wouldn’t have a movie switch like the T and XH bodies

The image quality is quite good. On a tripod I would use it for video. I have filmed handheld with the XPro3 and the stabiliser in fcpx does a great job.

Yeah, plus I like the little bit of shakiness that you get using a wider lens anyway-at least for certain shots. I think IBIS often looks clunky in video anyway.

In video mode, can you change focus while recording by touching the screen?

That's a good question. Can definitely set the focus before recording, but I've never tried to change focus mid-recording with the screen. That's generally when I would use the lens's zoom ring.

I know x pro 3 is photo-centric camera but again is there any gimbals that are suitable for this beautiful body?

Honestly, I'm very much the wrong person to ask about gimbals. Even with all the videos I've shot on other cameras, I rely on IBIS and post-stabilization. Best of luck, though. Have you posted that question on Reddit by any chance?
