Can the government confiscate your gold? E.B. Tucker on 'the war against your wealth'

Ray Dalio, co-chief investment officer of Bridgewater Associates, recently wrote that policy makers short on money will likely raise taxes and prevent capital flows into “other assets” like gold and Bitcoin. E.B. Tucker, director of Metalla Royalty and author of “Why Gold, Why Now” said that the government already has the tools to do this.
“Everyone gets this idea that the [government] will raid your house and look for your gold. It’s not necessary. All you have to do is limit the ability to transact gold in the legal market, and then you assess an excise tax,” Tucker said.

Most people don’t realize is that all they have to do is get a court order compelling you to turn it over. If you don’t comply with the court order then they can hold you in jail for contempt until you do turn it over. They would make you retrieve it in other words.

Europe's economy is in permanent decline. Some economists say the EU is now evolving into the communist Eastern European bloc of the 1960's to 80's producing goods and services not needed dictated by State controlled economy. France is leading the pack with over 50% of its GDP government controlled.

The real point about confiscation is that the government compensates the holders at a set price (I think it was $20 in 1933), and when the program is over, immediately bumps the ‘official’ pegged price of gold up massively (to $35 after the confiscations).

Gold bullion is not currently subject to any form of traceable registration so even if a paper trail proves that you had possession at one point. That's where the trail goes cold. People that store Gold usually dont need that Gold to be highly liquid so their rationale would likely be "why hand this gold in for US$2000/oz when it could go to ground for a few decades and eventually be sold to a friendly entity for a realistic price.

In the UK all gold transactions through registered dealers are reported to Government. Unless you are trading in a unregulated market like ebay there is a record of all your purchases and sales. Just that with the metal so tightly controlled they have no reason to do anything with that information at this time.

Gold can only be confiscated by force. Depends on how much an individual is not willing to let go. Do we trade amongst ourselves or do we trade though the syndicate? (govt.)

IF U can't use it because of the high tax put on it,, it becomes worthless. IF the bitcoin can't be used because the only C/currency that they allow is fedcoin for control .. LOOK at CHINA some of it's happening now .

The executive or mandate was for all "persons" not "citizens" to turn in there gold if a citizen turned in their gold they did it at there own will. The devil is in the details. Persons are not citizens.
