Can The Gym Leader Beat a Hardcore Nuzlocke in Pokemon Yellow?

This was a really cool run! A great well-rounded team :D My favourite gym leader is probably Sabrina. The game got easy after Brock learnt his best/worst move ever, self destruct :P

Sabrina is very nice, and one of those roadblocks, which basically says: Do you have an answer to Alakazam? If no, then please reset the run.

PokeMon Yellow was my first PokeMon game. I got it when it first came it. Never in my hundreds of play throughs have I ever lost the first battle.

Lt Surge worked his magic and that meant three resets. When I did the run, I asked myself the question if I ever lost the first battle in Yellow. But now I have video proof that I did. Several times.

It's probably because you always used the potion they gave in the pc, here he didn't use it so it's a lot more difficult to win

My favorite is Misty: She is the gym leader I most fear in my hardcore nuzlocks in FireRed and LeafGreen, Starmie is ridiculously strong at this point in the game and unless you have a grass or electric pokemon, you will have hard time in beat her.

Oh yes, Misty is so brutal if you don't have a gameplan, and most of the times the plan is either be faster, be grass type or electric type. But sometimes that's not enough (thinking about Pikachu, a Water Pulse could easily oneshot it)

I have watched probably the 3rd video now in a 6 hour period i started with the 1st 2 So excited we have nicknames now :)

Thank you! Nicknames were very fitting here, because of the theme, and yes, I'll try using them moving forward! Maybe I'll do a video or two without nicknames in the future, for example if the run is based on a character who never used nicknames either.

That was amazing Misty and Brock did an amazing job throughout this run. Poor Erika got left behind,but hey Vileplume is outclassed after the mid game anyways,it can join Surge as well😊. The editing was really on point,and I really liked the narrative. I wonder if Pyrce can heart gold with hardcore nuzlocke rules ?🤔

Thank you! For me I thought that Misty was just too good, considering it's an Alakazam with a little less damage but more diverse movepool Brock was really nice, because it was most of the times a hardcounter for some matchups. And the third Geodude in a row for me. Next time no Geodude, I promise! Surge the Pikachu is just the worst, like Lt Surge. No stats, and all 3 resets were his fault, even though I was quite lucky against multiple Gym Leader, haha. And Erika ... yes exactly. She was "needed" for Misty and after that, it didn't serve any purpose anymore (besides Cut of course) For the content suggestion. Let's just say, Pryce will make an appearence in the next run, but not his whole team. I tried Lance in HG which and it didn't work out for me. Playing several hours only for Clair to delete me, because the setup didn't work ... quite frustrating haha

@@chooseastarter yeah Lance's team consists of flying types mostly, yeah he is after all a hardcore bird keeper so the weakness to ice is kind terrible
