Could I make a trip from South Florida to North Carolina with one of these?

It's a great bike for anyone. Yes it not as fast as the bigger bikes, but definitely will cruise along with them. Great on gas, less maintenance. During the winter I add Stabil to the gas tank hook up the trickle charger and come summer time, it starts on the first try.

My 750 Spirit's happy place is between 50 and 70. My Sabre 1100 is happy from 60 to 80. Of course both will do 100+ but I'm talking about the place in top gear where the motor isn't feeling tightly wound.

That's a dumb question. Of course it can do highway speeds. Any of the Shadows can be rode for long distances at highway speeds. The 600 VLX, the 750, the 1100 are all great bikess.

Yea I liked them. Some fuck ran my bike over in a parking lot lol. But insurance totaled it so I upgraded to the vtx 1300. I love honda cruisers. Finna throw some 16 inch apes on it real soon, haha.

I joined a shadow group a few months ago. I always heard that the 750 "wasn't enough for the highway". It might be unsafe if people are going 100, but at normal, legal highway speeds, its perfectly capable. I hit 80-90 almost on a regular basis, and when I see something unusual, my first reaction is slow down, not speed up. I will only go that fast if there isn't many cars on the road and I can see clearly for close to a mile.

I hit that speed on my rebel 300 so i find it surprising that people say a 750cc engine isnt enough for highways
@joemann79713 жыл бұрын
@@ConservativeCalifornian1032 pretty much any bike 300 cc or higher can hit those speeds. I guess the real difference is how fast it hits those speeds but I don't see a real urgency to hit 90 mph. I think even the Rebel 1100 tops out at 100, even though its much more powerful than my shadow .

@@joemann7971 yeah ill just save my $2000 and get the shadow

@Kyle Vance it can do 75-80 but it certainly starts to run out of steam beyond that. I've seen gotten myself a Vulcan S, and at lower RPMs, rides similar to the Shadow, since it's a 650 motor. But once it hits 6000 RPMs, that's where it blows the 750 out of the water. It's exactly what I wish my 750 was. Its the perfect amount of power, nimble, and incredibly fun to ride. The only downside is you won't find them as affordable as a used 750, but if you got the extra cash, I would certainly check that bike out. The Shadow is a fine bike. Incredibly reliable, and low maintanence, especially if you get a shafty. It did feel like it needed a bit more grunt but nothing a few upgrades can't fix.

My Honda NC700X is just 670cc but turning about 4,000 rpm at 80 & making about 49 hp at 6,500 rpm. Feels relaxed there but around 85 it begins to feel out of breath. Less roll on power & slightly buzzy. But it's too tall so I'm looking at middleweight cruisers. They have the torque for an overdrive but seem geared a little short for some reason. Everyone says 750-900 cruisers are for 60-70 mph. Like I need an 1,800 to cruise at 80. I don't want an 800 pound bike.

My Honda Shadow 600cc used to go 110 mph. My first bike was a Kymco Zing 125cc and that little bastard was able to hit 70 mph.

I own one. She'll do it, But she screams when she does it. She smooths out at 85.
