I’ve just got into bikes. Don’t know why I waited so long. You have great trails out there. I can’t wait to find some good ones near me!

It can do it no problem if the rider has enough stamina/energy to manage it. I've done single track plenty times solo deep in woods on pilot road 6 street tires. It is tiring for sure though. The drop @05:00 is not uncommon. Going full lean to edge of tire racing sportbikes in mountains, riding single track in woods and being able to cruise at 90 on interstate is great. -14 1190 S

Hahaha! Just gotta start putting in the work and you’ll catch up 😁. Come to one of the training events and I promise you’ll leap ahead of where you’re at!

@@BeRAD Give me four years and I'll be where you were two years ago haha! In all seriousness I've been putting in tons of work this year, I went from a plateau of riding around not really improving for a couple of years to just running drills on drills and being a completely different rider to where I was 10 months ago. I really want to get some training but I'm in the UK so a small ocean in the way for me at the moment!

Dude, you can handle anything. Love to see you throw a Tenere 1200 around. That would awesome.

This makes me want an adventure bike, but I really want a fz09 as my next “road bike”. I’d honestly throw dirt tires on the fz09 when I get one though lol.

I really want to find an 09 to test on these trails haha. Even just with street tires it would be fun

@@BeRAD if I’m reckless and get one this year (2025) I’d gladly give you the opportunity if you haven’t by then haha

There's a guy local to me that does single track on his 1290 and it blows my mind. I don't believe one has to be a superhuman rider like Birchy or Pol Tarres to push a big bike offroad, but you definitely gotta have a lot of skill. Big Bikes = Big Consequences.

I completely agree. Anyone who’s very co didn’t on an enduro bike can pretty easily get on a big bike and ride well. I almost find it easier because everything happens a little slower. Like I feel very calm and relaxed riding this at a pace that’s kinda pushing the limits of traction, etc. it’s like half speed of the enduro bike so it’s in a way much easier. Now hard enduro on one is a different story, but basic trail, it’s really chill and fun haha!

@@BeRAD Chris Birch is on a super interesting episode of a podcast called Adventure Rider Radio where he talks about riding Big Bikes vs Small bikes. And one of the things he talks about is how in some ways big bikes are easier because the extra weight means extra momentum to carry you over obstacles. The trade off is that when that momentum goes in the wrong direction, it's very hard to stop.

what gearing were you using on your yz125x?

Great vid, I’m having problems with my yz125 it’s an h series when I rev it and let it come back down it dies, it also has an has a high idle. What settings would you recommend for idle screw, metering rod, I have the accelerator, and power jet.

Better question, "Can you handle an 1190 on single track!?"
@BeRAD

Haha in hindsight that’s a fair way to put it…but in all honesty, I wasn’t sure if the bike would make many of the turns. Did just fine…but I didn’t know until I tried!
